I'm probably hitting the water with my kayak there this evening. How far have you been back there? I just recently started fishing it with a boat / kayak. I lived all my life right down the road and been there many times throughout the years. Just rarely by boat.

WE went to the back, but it gets real shallow in there depending on the time of the year. Fun place when they are biting.

I was having the same problem yesterday with a 2stroke 8hp, so I added a one inch chunk of rubber flooring the same width as the transom and it completely solved the water coming over the stern. According to the Suzuki manual the transom was already at the specified height of 15", but it definitely wasn't working regardless of trim.

17” transom needs a short shaft. For some reason short shaft ‘supposedly’ is 15” but they truly measure 17”. I always had to use a 2” spacer on top of my transom for best performance. I work on small short shaft outboards so when I rebuilt my transom, I made it 17” deep and now it’s perfect for short shaft motors.. Hope this helps somebody some day.

Good video. I'd would have added is a piece of 1/2" x 4" aluminum strip to run acrost your back transom so the motor mounts have a solid wider surface to grab onto. This would add a lot of stability to your transom. I would also add a 1/4" thick piece of vibration damping pad on the other side of the transome where the touches the boat.

Thanks for the review ! Weird thing is that I have mobility issues as well ! Been paralyzed from the waist down since birth. I've had a john deere gator TX, and a Honda pioneer 1000. One oddball question is , how is the seat height ? I tend to venture away from my vehicle at times , and since I can't walk , I'll be pulling myself up from the ground. I was going to buy another gator , but saw these. I used to work at a Kawi dealership , and only seen the Mules come in for service. Oil changes, and an air filter swap , and they went out the door . Great reliability and durability.
