"To remember" is a reflexive verb in German: "Ich erinnere MICH." If you leave out the reflexive pronoun, "erinnern" means "to remind: "Ich erinnere dich an unsere Vereinbarung." - "I remind you of our appointment."

It’s entertaining, but it also has plenty of details that are like candy for hard-core language learners: you can drop the ‘e’ of the verb in “Ich erinner’ mich” (easier pronunciation), “Ich weiß nicht mehr” can mean “I don’t remember,” and ‘hierhin’ (not ‘hier’) is used with ‘pinkeln.’ Espero que te hayan gustado las vacaciones en CDMX. There is also a very formal version like “Ich erinnere mich dieses Mannes” But in German, there is a trend to avoid the usage of the genitive case. That’s why several verbs with a genitive case have been turned into accusative or dative cases.

Daran is one of the Da- words. Check out Anja's videos on these. Together with the preposition 'an' (= on/near) I think it means "on or near it" but the context (the rest of the given sentence) would confirm that. I'm going back another cpl of times just to be sure I got the msg correctly and to bed it down.
