That's what I thought as well at first, but this is a reflexive dative pronoun, so "Du" becomes "dir" and "Sie" becomes "sich"

Hello anja , I am Hassan from Saudi Arabia. I am very interested in learning the German language, but I do not find time for that. I always try to listen to an explanation or conversations in German. I have a problem I don't understand full meaning or uses of Mách When I search online, I find examples and how to use them, but I don't understand I am very focused on this word because for me as an Arab and English is a second language, Mách in the middle of a German sentence is a strange sound than the rest of the sentences for me I have heard online conversations in English, French and other European countries and Russian, but I did not hear this pronunciation except in German. In Arabic you will write مآخ and the pronunciation is identical.

Both things sound totally different for me. No native German speaker would ever confuse that. The name Hassan is quite common nowadays here in Germany because lots of people from Turkey or Arabic Countries emigrated here. I hear it a lot. I never think of "Hate" and I'm quite sure nobody else will.
