This video game me an interesting idea. I wonder how a high quality replica spandex suit of the MK85 would look over the armor. The 3D printed armor would give it shape but the spandex would still be able to stretch and move, giving that organic nano suit effect. I don't expect it would be as cool looking as the 3D printed suit but the effect it could have is a curious notion.

Great advice again as always! Another thing you can do is when you import parts, you can just hold ctrl and click on multiple pieces. Armor smith will group them together as one piece. Then u can export it as single parts when you are done modifying them.

Awesome..i just purchased this today, and have only had a quick look, didn't know you could manipulate parts so much, i just started using blender too, so being able to combine all the chest and back peices and then split it back up is really good to know.

I've been waiting for this video! Thank you! Question for you or anyone else who has done fully 3d printed cosplays - how much bodyshopping goes into it? For example, I'm working on a Samus cosplay (my first fully 3d printed cosplay), and I want to make the arms decently tight. I got a good fit in Armorsmith, but the openings of the forearm are much more narrow than the rest of the forearm. I'm planning on printing it, and bodyshopping the openings to widen them. Maybe also thinking of cutting the forearm in half length-wise and attaching it around my arm with some velcro or magnets.

Do you have any experience with resin printers and im thinking the flexible resin specificly 🤔 happen to see another video on it recently and it made me think of Tony's flexing backplate maybe done entirely in gold resin 🤔 but also at that point I feel a body fit silicone (bodysuit in place of those parts so it moves more fluidly with the body. I'm just brainstorming things and liked the thought

@gwelch5362
@gwelch5362 11 ай бұрын
it depends of how many supports and how dense they are, what infill you use, and size of the print space you have. The stl you have will also change how much filament you use. The one I printed was about 350g of filament using a free mk 85 helmet from thingieverse. it can go up rapidly if you change certain things like layer height or infill, or orient it wrong and burn through alot of filament on supports. i used .2mm layer 20% infill. as for cost, you will need to figure that out yourself as cost changes from location to location. the print is the least expensive part of the manufacture. you have sand paper, filler, and paint. electronics if you want the eyes to light up or face plate to move mecanically (lets face it, if you are taking the time to do this then yes you want it to light up and move).
