How To Scan and Make PDF with iPhone

Did you know your iPhone and iPad have a built-in scanner and can turn any photo into a PDF automatically?
It's inside of the note app that comes with your phone. Simply open the notes app and make a new note.
Press the camera icon and you'll see an option to scan. Choose the scan type, color, black and white, etc, and take a picture.
The note app will automatically scan the image and you can save it as a PDF.
Once it's saved, it can be email or shared via a text message.
It's really that simple to scan and make a PDF with iPhone or iPad.

I can do something similar with my Android phone, but it requires a 3rd party app. The quality is great, but it is not quite as easy to use as what you are showing. I will be getting an iPad soon, though, and I will try scanning from that. For multiple pages and double-sided I have a sheet-fed scanner the works great.

I have iPhone 8 and iOS 16.7.5. I go to the NOTES app, use the camera, scan document, click, keep scan, and save. However, when I click the 3 dots, I only see 4 options - find a note, move note, lines & grids, and delete. I can’t find send email, or pdf. Is there a way I can use my iPhone 8 to scan a multi-page document and save it as pdf?

Question: When I email it to myself it is asking me to sign in woth Apple ID. How do we get it to be a pdf?

@@debbyandrews9125 I figured this out with an iPhone. You have to go to notes, then make sure you’re all the way out in folders then click the bottom right (new note) tab and then the camera icon will show up. Hope that helps you..
