Finally, we have an instructor that is not focussed on showing off skills by performing each task at double speed. In my observation this has been a stand out problem since computers first hit our desks years ago. Thank you for explaining the procedures at a speed which can easily be comprehended and understood by most people. Many other so called instructors could take a lesson from your methods. Thank you

Thanks a million Ellen. I am 80 years old and I have an IPhone 12 Pro. I am sick of having to resort to asking one of my Sons or Grandchildren how to do things. This scanning to notes and forwarding in a PDF format will be very useful to me. I have made a note of your Utube site, subscribed and will use it often. I’ll be honest, I hate technology, however if one knows how to use it, it is brilliant. I feel very sorry for people who have not made an effort to use modern technology. It has got to the point where if you can’t use it or understand it, one really can’t operate in this world we now live in. Your Utube channel is a Godsend for people like me. I like to be independent and not have to ask family how to do things. Thanks again, the most useful Utube channel I have found in years.

Hi Ellen, please explain the use and distinction of scanning or take a picture of a document. Which is better for what? And why?
@EllensTipsForiOS4 ай бұрын
It would depend on what you’re using it for. A picture could end up being a large file where scanning a document would be relatively small in comparison.

Hi Ellen, me again, what is a PDF and its purpose and significance; why would I want to do a PDF? I have heard that term many times but don’t really understand it or its purpose. Your friend, Roger of Orlando
@EllensTipsForiOS4 ай бұрын
Hi Roger, here’s the definition: PDF stands for Portable Document Format, and it's a file format that allows users to present and exchange documents regardless of the software, hardware, or operating system being used. PDFs are electronic documents that can contain text, graphics, type fonts, interactive elements, and digital signatures. They're designed to be compatible across multiple platforms, including licensed, shareware, and freeware.
@rogeroforlando85034 ай бұрын
@@EllensTipsForiOS Ellen, when and why would you use PDF? Roger of Orlando
@EllensTipsForiOS4 ай бұрын
Here’s the best explanation I could find: Portable Document Format (PDF) is a versatile file format that can be used for many purposes, including: Sharing PDFs can be easily shared and exchanged between people using different software, hardware, or operating systems. Printing PDFs are easier for printers to process and produce high-quality print jobs with precise page layout and high resolution images. Online content PDFs are useful for presenting high-quality documents like newsletters, catalogs, manuals, and technical papers. Security PDFs can include advanced security features like encryption and password protection to safeguard sensitive information. Accessibility PDFs can be opened and viewed on almost any device, including computers, tablets, and smartphones, without compromising the layout or formatting. Content integration PDFs can combine various types of content into a single file, such as text, images, vector graphics, videos, animations, audio files, 3D models, interactive fields, hyperlinks, and buttons. Searchability PDFs can be organized with a table of contents and can be easily searched using free tools like Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Slight change in sending a pdf from notes, if you tap on the scan it will do nothing, you now need to tap on the dropdown arrow next to the document name and then select ‘share’ you can then select what application to send it in like mail, message etc. quite a few different options with correct 2024

Hi Ellen do you know what the difference would be between scanning a document and taking a photo of the same document? I’m referring to quality etc. For example I scanned my drivers license and also took a picture. The scanner document didn’t come out as vibrant as the picture. I was wondering if it makes a difference when sending to an entity like an insurance company.
@EllensTipsForiOS Жыл бұрын
A photo will always have better quality but if you’re sending or uploading something to your insurance company it just has to be readable. In my opinion scanning something is best for written material.

This is a great feature, I could have used this the other day! Tried it out while listening to this Instruction, but unfortunately I can’t “tap” to get it to send as a pdf. 😢😢😢

Sorry to hear that! Can you tell me what the problem is?

@@EllensTipsForiOS I’m not really sure…it wouldn’t tap open as yours did. But interestingly, after leaving my comment, I found that it somehow transferred into my iPhone’s Download folder where it appeared as a pdf! So, that was very workable. This will be great vs how I’ve had to take document photos then access them on my Mac to then export as a pdf which is time-consuming. I’m so happy I came across your channel and this specific topic. Thank you.
