Hello, I would like to make a suggestion for a video. I have been following and watching your videos for over a year and I may have just forgotten if this is something that has already been disgusted in a previous video. I would like to see a video sharing best advice or tips to anyone who will be starting the DMS program in the next few months. I have heard one word of advice is to brush up on all your anatomy and really review it and try to know it before starting the program. What are other things people who know they will be starting the program soon can do to prepare themselves?

Hi there! We actually have answered this question a few times, I can make a video on it.. but most sonographers will tell you to enjoy your freedom and time off before studying. If you really HAVE to and need to get ahead, anatomy/ physiology, physics, medical terminology, and how to describe is really important. You could possibly watch videos on those. But really, enjoy your time off!

Your hospital start at the gsv junction? What bout above it? Hm, I was told by a vascular lab lead tech that since it's veins they're not bifurcations, that's when we're working on arteries going down they bifurcate, but since we going a different direction they're converging. I want to know why augment is done? Venous reflux? Isn't that a whole other study? 🤔

Hi! This is why I posted the disclaimer :) vascular labs do things differently especially since they are specialized and do more than we do in a hospital setting! :-) And yes I agree with the converging! Bifurcating just means “split” so to a lot of people they understand that word more. But thank you for sharing converging with us all!

Augmenting is done in a hospital setting to show adequate blood flow and no thrombosis in the contralateral leg. In the normal venous system, with distal mechanical compression flow augmentation is seen, which becomes particularly useful to prove patency in the smaller calf vessels. You are correct though we also augment in a reflux exam. 🥰
