Excellent explanation. Love the exercise with the one guy reacting to what the defenders do. Never got to practice that drill and i'm bad at reads. Love that you show good exemples with relevant bosses on the internet: nba, euroleague, ncaa, coaches, devin williams etc. You know your stuff it would seem. Would love more videos on drills to practice reads.. on screens, on readin defense or offense, or reading your man and his weaknesses, or quickly reading the strength vs weakness of other team during a game etc..

I think to hide and shoot works best vs lazy switches, when guy guarding ball goes under before switch
@CoachFrikki3 жыл бұрын
Definitely. And if they switch hard then the slip will be open. Defense has to pick its poison.

Can you do a vid on keeping your head in the game. My HS athletes will get so upset over small things not going their way that they'll get caught moping, while I'm screaming "keep playing!" and the ball is literally bouncing behind them 🤦🏾♂️... Whether it's from a turnover, missed lay-up or their teammates not passing; I need them to keep playing through frustration.

That’s all they do in the NBA. They suck ! Shoot 3s. How about learning to pass to open up easy shots. Should be illegal, most time it’s a moving screen. Plus it’s so silly, why play. Lol

Do a video off driving and rounding a pick and roll because even through just shooting is effective I get more buckets when I drive and split the switch or have them on my hip it leads to assists or lays.

What if you reject the screen? Sometimes they yell “switch”. That would be a perfect time to reject.

Hard hedge? No way you can pull that one.. either i’ll pass or split..
@CoachFrikki2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the ball handler should become a 100% passer against the hard hedge. Slip and find the correct pass in that 4v3 situation. Not a big fan of splitting, it's so risky especially against good defenders. PnR should make the game easy for you, not hard trying to split through multiple defenders.
