Great work Gino! It's hard to find videos where people actually take the time to explain the aspects of the discharge process. You killed it - thanks brother.

Great design , how do you keep the shirts down on the platen ? When I use discharge , the adhesive I have doesn’t keep the shirts down, thanks
@LearnHowToScreenPrint4 жыл бұрын
That’s all I use- a water based platen adhesive. Card it on- I have been using textac platen adhesive...but the new bucket I got doesn’t stick as good as it used too. And just noticed it is made by chromaline now- used to be made by some other company.

Nice shirt, really great insight and advice. Do people want to spend the extra for quality printing or are they satisfied wearing that same oldJoeJearsy? Does, 'it was good enough for Winterland then it is good enough for me' mentality prevail? Thanks for the vid.

Great video! Much like all your other videos. Thanks for all the helpful info. One question. When discharge printing and regular water based printing, do you go on contact, or off contact?
@LearnHowToScreenPrint9 жыл бұрын
Dark Manifestationz Thanks for watching! When we use waterbase and discharge we use very very little off contact...

Gino this tutorial is so good!!!! Thank you so much!! One question, discharge inks can not be affixed on top of the other truth? Best regards!
@LearnHowToScreenPrint7 жыл бұрын
correct! Discharge would "eat" AKA "bleach" any inks underneath it

what do those heat machines usually run? I would like to do this but based from home, is there a smaller version
@kultur-vultur8 жыл бұрын
yes there are smaller dryers but you need ventilation, You can use a flash unit to cure plastisol and other inks with some practice for small scale printing. Or you can look into waterbased products

Waterbase printing has been a nightmare for me. I live in a hot, dry, and 0% humidity city. Waterbase dries up quickly on the screen for me.

So what happens when you dont use a forced air dryer to cure discharge??... Is it even possible to cure discharge with a regular IR flash?
@ahhnikitaa7 жыл бұрын
It just takes much longer to cure because it will be air drying.
@LearnHowToScreenPrint7 жыл бұрын
Add a fan...basically forced air is just th IR heat with air movement. before we got forced air we used a fan to push the steam away..making our own forced air.

+Learn How To Screen Print T-shirts Question: Some people do or don't charge more for plastisol vs discharge. Why might that be?
@LearnHowToScreenPrint9 жыл бұрын
I charge more because it takes more time to mix the ink and we slow the dryer down for the best curing results.
