Oh yeah im so getting that flash! So i used to buy my platens but now i go to home depot in the wood for shelves section they have mdf with the white top and bottom just like the wood platens. It comes 15 3/4” wide. Cut it to size sand it and you get 4 platens for 20$.

Yes 100% the flash is 20x24 and I used have to move my old flash for some of my bigger prints but with this I have no issues has all the best features. 3 zones that can be turned off and on with forced air which are two fans on top. For the money I have spent on it, it has paid off with speeding up the printing times but as well it cuts down on electric bill because its not on the whole time.

Why do you put the masking tape over the emulsion and box off your image? Does it help squeegee glide better?

We use painters tape instead of the screen printing tape that everyone uses it works the same and is cheaper and you can buy it at any Home Depot

Right, I understand that part. You are the only person that screen prints (so far that I have seen) that tapes all the way to the stencil part, so im curious why you do that? You actually put tape over ALL the emulsion all the way and box off the image you are screen printing.

@@brittanypalma4906 It prevents any ink from going through the edges that may not have full emulsion coverage. At least that's my understanding and how I use it on the type of screen printing I do as a newbie to this field.

Awesome video. I am having trouble registering my image, I do not have micro registration. So I went out and bought the Transfer/Registration Tape (16" x 10 yards). Will give it try soon. As far as your print job, what screen #s dis you use or recommend (base, 1st, 2nd coats). Also is that dryer a bbc flash dryer ? As for now I am using a heat gun, it's slow and a pain to use. Love your videos, your always up front and helpful.

Idk if you’ll see this but I’m having trouble getting the small details and to burn and getting them to wash out. I’m thinking I’m not burning right and I don’t have a power washer I can use right now

When I wash out personally I do not use a pressure washer only use it when cleaning screens out

I screen print using epoxy ink onto finished sheet metal. If I leave the screen for more than 30 seconds or so between pieces, the ink dries out and I need to wash the screen out and start over to finish the job. How long can Plastisol sit for after you start printing?

I do not think plastisol would work personally you could try it though the ink last a while in the screen with out drying out I leave it over night if I have big orders.
