The Mx Factory I think this is a much better video. My scrubs are pretty good but hopefully they’ll improve from this video. Too bad I won’t be able to ride for a while. My bearings in my back tire are looser than loose. My back wheel is about to come off! But that’s beside the point. Great video! Edit: Keep up the great videos! You’ve really helped me improve on my riding! Maybe I can come to your summer camp!

That's what a scrub is...
@vrd1804 жыл бұрын
@@ericw9719 No. A scrub involves laying the bike over on its side as you go up the face of a jump. This redirects the suspension rebound out to the side, reducing the amount of rebound that pushes you up vertically, allowing you to have a lower trajectory through the air. That is not what is being demonstrated here. He is merely soaking up the suspension rebound with his body while keeping the bike upright. These are two different techniques, though they both have the same goal of lowering your trajectory through the air.
@huisman1114 жыл бұрын
@@vrd180 i agree with you but i also think ''soaking up a jump'' the way this guy is teaching it is a great first step (getting your feet wet you could say) before you start to learn how to throw a real scrub.. but technically what this guy is doing is scrubbing.. dungey scrubs like this alot.. both ways take time off your lap time and thats what the real goal is.. ''scrubbing time off''

Great video as usual guys. For those of us that grew up riding and racing in the 90's we know about sucking up the jump to stay low, and I've always looked at as allowing the bike come to me on the face by staying loose(gripping with my knees but not so much that my legs are rigid and they can still bend and flex freely) as opposed to actively moving towards the bike. Because if you're staying relaxed it naturally allows the bike to move up and down under you and and do all the work and the timing aspect seems less of an issue when soaking up the face

Just a suggestion.... but i think a stand up cornering vid would help a lot of people.... it would really help me, i try to do it but i dont know what corners to do it on or really how to don it at all...... just a suggestion tho
@kieranmacca93704 жыл бұрын
You can practice it on any corner really, but start off on corners that aren't really tight and go around the outside. Stand on the balls of your feet and just keep trying. You'll figure out what works and what doesn't. After a while you will be able to do it on tighter turns.
@andreagottwald35354 жыл бұрын
Kieran Macca thanks, i have been struggling with it thanks for the advice but are their any specific corners that you need to apply this technique to to gain speed?

What do I do after I learn to soak up the jump? Loved this video. Keep it coming with beginner/intermediate videos. Video suggestion: what to prepare yourself for on the vet track to get you ready for the main. Another video suggestion: What are race tips that a coach would tell beginner/intermediate riders. My parents don’t know anything about dirtbiking so I’m on my own haha. Is there anything I need to be aware of for starting races?

I been picky on modern riders the scrub is so gay....going over a jump on the start.. yall cant even be next to each other when u scrub it takes up the space of 2 or 3 bikes would normally fit in....when u have room ...i basically acidentlly started this scrub thing in 1989 i started trying to leave the ground early so i could jump the peak an not fly high off the ground...an i was just playing around purely to see if i could do it...i was able to borrow a pro 125cc riders 250 RM zuki...because he liked the his 125 best...at a local race off a ski jump at sleep hollow mx park in PA i bounced the bike but it didnt bounce evenly an i almost flew cart wheel down the hill....i said ok i only try this on my CR an not my factory friends privateer suzuki on lone...oh was it so fast first holeshot i did i had a 20 foot lead but never pitched a suzuki into a turn at 65mph so i looked back an just slowed...every body immediately recognized who bike i was riding....it cool...thats why the guy who built it let me ride it to show its capabilitys....Tyler is on of the best jumpers....no matter what the jump is...
