Thank your husband for his service! Almost all my family ( dad, brother, brother in law) and most of my husbands family were and are serving in the military! I just did my first ever coasters and am new to dp. These coasters are my sister’s birthday gift. I will get the polycrylic and brush next month on payday and seal those. Is there a strong bad smell? My nose is very sensitive to chemicals and I’m already planning on wearing gloves.

@@Diamondsandstuff-tm6ux I definitely love our [non-woke] military folks and this country. I know that this is still the best place on Earth, even with the insanity we're seeing today, like what you mentioned about not being able to discuss or debate in a non-confrontational manner (among many other things). The fact that we're seeing this level of crazy in people today on a global scale screams end times to me. Not sure if you're a Christian (I won't hate on you or argue with you if you're not), but the Bible hits the nail right on the head about all this... "But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people..." (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Keep fighting the good fight and don't cower when "crazy" fights against you... there's no getting away from it and there's no pacifying it without throwing your convictions out the window. I'll get off my soap box now 😉 I hope y'all have a wonderful day, and I will be watching your upcoming videos!!!

Oh, thank you! You don’t have to use sealant, I find it depends more on what you do wirh the item when you’re finished that sort of makes the decision. If you’re going to put the canvas is a frame that has either glass or acrylic panel in front, you don’t really need to seal it. If you wanted to make magnets out of the coasters and not actually use them under condensation heavy drink glasses, it may be totally fine not to seal them. 🤷♀️. Really, it’s personal preference. 😁❤️👍🏻

Can you tell us why not a polyurathane product?
@Diamondsandstuff-tm6ux9 ай бұрын
Polyurethane is produced by the reaction of an isocyanate with a polyol. It is not meant for fabric, (such as dp canvas,) it is meant mainly for non-porous surfaces. It is also extremely flammable, and tends to yellow with age. These are the main reasons polycrylic is recommended over polyurethane. Hope this helps! Have a great day! 😁❤️👍🏻

I’m happy you found the info useful! Of all of the products I have tried, this one really seems to be the best option, (and I have ruined some canvases finding this out 😕,) the only thing I haven’t been able to test is longevity. My canvases are about a year old and holding up perfectly, but I don’t know how they will do at the 10 year mark. Based on what Ive seen so far, I have high expectations! I especially like that the diamonds stay sparkly, and don’t yellow with age!! 😁❤️👍🏻

@@FunwithLorissa Thanks so much for watching! I keep the resin drills from premium companies, along with any special drills (AB’s, crystals, etc.,) on large bead or thread organizers! I usually don’t keep the acrylic drills with budget kits unless I really love the color, or they’re especially sparkly, or something of that nature! I have one of the giant coke bottle banks, that I am currently filling with the drills Im not keeping for a purpose, and it’s kind of a pretty “objet d’art”!! Hello. Thank you.. do you get small bubbles once the sealant dries off? I did get it from one of the sealers and looking for help to resolve it.. thank you again..
@Diamondsandstuff-tm6ux11 ай бұрын
Hi! I have not had any bubbling so far. It might be the consistency, but that has not happened on any of the canvases or off canvas projects I have sealed so far. I haven’t even seen any bubbles form. I have used both thick and thin coats of this sealant, and it always dries clear. What type of applicator are you using to apply it? I use a brush as you saw in the video, but if you use a foam applicator, they are prone to bubbling. I have one sealer that has a thick foam top meant to be used with it, and that sealer does bubble. Be sure to use a brush or silicone spreader to apply sealer, and you should have better results! 👍🏻. I’ll be showing some sealed off campus projects in today’s video, so stay tuned! Hi. I’m new to DP coasters. Found Minwax did not secure drills very well. I am now using Tom Bow aqua, that seems to work well to secure drills. That gets a little tacky when wet. Since these are gifts, I feel they need a water resistant finish, so I am adding the Minwax for that. Is one coat of that sufficient? Is there a problem if more than one coat of Minwax is used? Thanks for any input.
@Diamondsandstuff-tm6ux5 ай бұрын
@@MarilynYaskulka Hi! Nice to make your acquaintance! 😊. Yes, you can use more than one coat of minwax. I would apply one coat (paying special attention ro coating the edge of the coasters,) and check when it is completely dry. Then, touch the item and see if you think a second coat is needed. I have rarely needed a second coat, but I have once or twice. Mainly when a canvas, coaster, ir other item came with bad glue, or was incredibly slippery, and I was concerned with the drills staying on the project. I found that the tombow aqua dulled the shine of the diamonds, so I don’t use it. I hope this helps! Good luck! 😀💜👍🏻

do you seal partials? If so do you seal all of the canvas?

Ok, im kind of new to diamond painting and have only purchased cheap ones. My question is, why would you need a lifetime warranty on a diamond painting.
@Diamondsandstuff-tm6ux10 ай бұрын
Hi! Main reasons to need a warranty are, if drills begin to pop off over time, canvas gets wet, becomes discolored, accidentally gets torn, poured glue lets go or becomes less sticky with age, or damaged in some other way. In theory, if you have purchased from a premium company you would be protected and would be eligible for compensation from the company. However, buyer beware-I have seen premium companies fail to stand by their warranties, because of this, if you do decide to purchase a high end canvas that is anywhere from $70-$125, be sure you find out what exactly is covered, and what is not. (Some companies, for instance, only cover problems with drills or the drill field, and nothing else is covered.). Ultimately, if you complete a premium canvas and aren’t concerned about a warranty and feel you’d like to seal it, that’s your prerogative. Welcome to this thoroughly fun and addictive hobby! I hope this helped! Have a wonderful day! 😁❤️👍🏻
