These are our list! Thanks for the info, our kids would benefit greatly from this road school itinerary 😀 also, I thought the diorama from the museum was drone footage at first 🤣🤣🤣 great panning!

Ok, I know my panning sucks, apparently I shake like crazy. So if I got one part of the video somewhat smooth that is a HUGE win for me!! (this is Chris by the way). These are both excellent places to take kids. The van tour at Crazy Horse was really good. The gentlemen driving talked about his heritage and his tribe. It was really cool. We love learning about history and other cultures. -Chris & Suzannah

Most people know about Mount Rushmore and it's a must see...but how many people know about the Crazy Horse Memorial? Do you know about it or have you been?
@shellye.13413 жыл бұрын
I never even knew about the Crazy Horse memorial. It's so strange because I am 47 years old. I was asking around, no one had ever heard anything about it. We live in North Carolina but it's still so strange.

@@shellye.1341 You're not alone, many people have never heard of it and it's a shame. I (Chris) was 21 when I first went and hadn't heard of it either. Just happened to be visiting friends in the area and they took me. The story of the location and what it represents has stuck with me ever since. I hope you get to make it one day.

Excellent video with loads of information. Shelley and I about ten years ago. We did not have to walk the trail of Presidents. And the Crazy Horse monument was not anywhere near as complete as it is now. It’s incredible how long it’s going to take. Thank you guys for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.

Rushmore has an audio tour and a museum that we couldn’t do because of Covid. Did you go to the museum while there? Yes, the Crazy Horse carving is a multigenerational undertaking. Klee told our son that we won’t be around to see it completed but we want him to go and take his children. It’s an important part of history. Thanks again for watching and commenting. -Chris & Suzannah

Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse were our absolute favorite parts of the Black Hills. Crazy Horse was very moving and sparked a lot of curiosity with us. You guys nailed this video! So informative and gorgeous footage. Also....Suzannah is SO full knowledge. 😉Very impressive.

I forgot Crazy Horse was doing bus tours so you can get closer. Best time in my opinion is to go early June and do the Volksmarch where you can walk up the backside & stand on his arm!

They have one that costs about $125 and it takes you up to where they’re carving. That would be so awesome...but expensive. I think the one you described sounds so much better though! Thanks for the info.

I also heard buffalo in vast numbers roamed. From a distance the hills they're on make the hills look black.

We hadn’t heard that explanation but back when millions of bison roamed the area I guess it could make them look black.
