Currently in the middle of my install. I thought the same lift up the carpet and put down vinyl.. not so easy. Pulled up way too many staples too. Just researching the concrete self level part. Will do the silicone for the seams and holes and will do the expanding foam. Not too sure how many bags to get and also doing by my self. I think I’m just going to level the dips instead of the whole floor and hope for the best.. I have just a couple of spots that are just over 3/8 of an inch so that’s why I’m self leveling. Nice vid

Walk behind floor sanders can be rented at every HD. They make quick work of this project and much less painful.

Thanks SO MUCH!! for your video. Out of all of them I watched, Your's was the most informative. I will be pooring LevelQuick RS tomorrow. 30 bags of it. 1400 Sq Ft home. When this dries we are installing LifeProof Laminate Solid Core with a Herringbone pattern. I'll be doing this DIY, as I didn't trust these shady contractors. Im learing a bunch!! Thanks again for your posting. I subscribed, so I can get more ideas from you two.

Glad you found the video helpful! Doing the entire house is definitely the way to go. Just start in one end of the house, and work your way out, while always keeping a wet edge. Good luck!

I noticed you didn’t use lath. How is it holding up? And cracks?

So I just did my pour in my room where the floor joist was bowing. I tried to screw down as much of the plywood to eliminate the squeaks. However, even with the metal lathe, 3 days later after the pour, I can see hair line cracks all over. Some say its due to the heat inside my home causing it to dry to quick, but I did another pour in a room where the window was left open and has no central heating. It eventually showed 1 hair line crack for now. The lathe is to provide it from cracking further but not to prevent any cracks. I hope someone else can chime in about this.

Thank you for posting this, very useful! Where did you get that bucket with a cart/wheelborrow?

Glad you found it helpful! We rented that from a local flooring store. It does make mixing a lot easier for larger jobs.

Why not just find the high point of the house and put screws leved to that high point so that anything below that high point doesn't need to be sanded. In fact nothing needs to be sanded UNLESS its above that high point.
