Also, I'm pretty sure that when you use stuff like this you're supposed to remove the toilet and flange and reseat it after your compound is dry.

@@TheNiftyNester I can't but help wonder where you got the confidence and knowledge to do that. I have a room that has a crack, I'm quite sure. It's where an addition was added yrs before I moved in. The floor is hidden by carpet but I can feel it. It would be nice to repair that so I can put in a non-carpet flooring. I've read about filling cracks and leveling but seeing you do it was even better. You had quite the crack in that floor. Although I've looked, I've not seen a homeowner DIY this before. Thanks again.

@@ssdd3332 you are too kind, thank you! I didn't have the knowledge or the confidence a few years ago. I just started tackling small projects and became obsessed. That's when I started learning everything I could. Like you, I didn't see a lot of home owners doing their own projects, just mainly professionals. I learn everything I can before trying something new then I make mistakes anyways lol. It's just part of the process. You are probably right, if you feel like there's a crack under the carpet there probably is. My biggest suggestion would be to have a helper so one can mix while the other pours. I wouldn't do this alone if it was a larger room. I would also suggest using the same product that I used. I tried another product in a different room (can't remember which product) and it was awful. It didn't flow well and wasn't workable. We've had to deal with some foundation issues and these cracks are what's left to deal with after the fact. Hopefully yours won't be so bad though.

This video is giving me so much hope on DIY my house with my wife. Question, can I add the self leveling compound over vinyl stick tiles already on my floor? Or do I have to scrape them all off then the subfloor?

What happens if you ever need to replace the toilet?

Good question! So the toilet was slightly lifted. I caulked around the base to keep the concrete off of the toilet and that part of the floor only needed to barely be skimmed. I can still access the base of the toilet so it'll come up without any trouble. If that area had needed more than a skim coat I would've had to take the toilet out though.
