I'm going to do this at an inside location where you can leave your setup from Sunday to Sunday. On my list I put: seating, comfortable shoes & layered clothes, water, coffee, food since I'll be alone & it's a long day. I decided it's safer than a garage sale for someone living alone & it'll free up space at home, like a storage unit. Everything you said makes sense & I appreciate you kept it concise. Additionally, I realized I will ask a friend who sells just one item at another flea market to handle some of my items while I handle some of hers. It should be a win-win. Thank you! ☮️💞🙏🏼

sounds like you have everything all planned out, great. in that situation i also made friends at the flea market to watch my store on bathroom breaks and you can watch their store as well, or make a nice "be right back sign" for your customers

I'll be going to a swap meet in April, 3 hour drive one way. I'm going through everything! Just in the past week I definitely have a variety of items. Vintage glass wear, vintage toys, handmade crafts, + so much more. I have a nice sized tent, canopies, chairs, cots, flashlights, solar lights ( they work great around the canopy tops but I need to work on tables. Thanks for the info.

Here’s an idea that is new since you have delicate items I would get paper to wrap their purchases and offer them a small bag to purchase for $1 you can offer bags in bulk via Amazon or aliexpress before April. Just a thought 💭. Did your city eliminate plastic bags ?

Great video. Precise information, not a lot of excess chatter. The only thing I would add is I suggest getting the best tent you can afford and at least 150# of weights. Getting the best tent, you can afford will pay off in the long run. I went through so many cheap tents. I do flea markets(outside) and maker's markets(inside).

Weights are important! Just last week I saw a canopy with sides go flying!! It disrupted the display next to it sending things flying all over. Fortunately, no one got hurt & there were many of us to help clear things up.

Use head lamps. A flash light takes up 1 hand. A head lamp takes zero. The light goes wherever you are looking.

Could you do a video of what to do when someone wants something you are selling for a lot less. I used to go to the flea market but those types of buyers discouraged me. I'm trying FB Marketplace but meeting up and communicating with people isn't always the best. If you are at a busy flea market, you will get traffic. People usually liked my merchandise.

That’s a great idea. I do see this a lot now a days people want you to lower your price by 20% or 30% it can be annoying if it happens all day. I’ll look more into it and compile some helpful tips in a video.

Go cheap for now...a couple saw horses with a door across them works until you can afford tables. If you don't have a pop up, use a patio umbrella on a stand for some shade.

6 am is when most sellers get their to get the best spot, I always try to get the spot next to the coffee vendor so some type of food vendor because that brings traffic to your spot. Does your flea market allow food vendors?

The last time I was at the market I didn't sell any of them as they were on the ground in front of my table. The market I go to has permanent tables already to go and you pay by table. Should I place the coffee tables on the permanent table? I was trying to display them in a way that the potential buyers cold envision them in their house. Your thoughts? Appreciate your advice!

Wow flea markets are really cheap printing space where you are. The Atlanta suburb area it's a bit more for a space. It also depends on your location if you have like prime real estate at the flea market like next to an ATM or right at the entrance where people walk by those spots cost more.

I'm thinking of doing this for my photography business in a couple of weeks but I'm brand new at owning a business like this. What about allowing debit card use? I have no idea what to do about that and a lot of people use that now. The one i'm setting up is not really a flea market...it's more like small businesses like mine. Andy, yea...they will not allow me to bring any kind of backing like a tent or anything for my space...I"m in phoenix,az and I'm going to try sitting on the side...def don't want to be in that sun side all day...hopefully it's gotten cool enough so I can withstand it! I'm also thinking of selling stuff that I don't use anymore but I"m not sure...thinking of trying just the photography stuff (more than just photos here) for this first time, just to kinda get a feel for it first, since it is a little different than others at this location.

I agree but disagree on some things. Selling one item like handbags is geared towards those who want them. I see people selling kid's items, another with tools. Having a certain item is good for those who know what they want. Others are just browsers. They just shop and make spur of the moment purchases. As for having on the ground, you must be in the dirt because I haven't seen dirty items on any item purchased on a tarp. You can scan the ground and see what you want. Having a table is extra to carry, not to mention how expensive those tables run for. Selling should be enjoyable and not extra work. Good video.
