I get stumped with giving a US address for location of the item. I’m using Chit Chats from Vancouver. They cross into Washington to send by USPS. Their shipping labels even give a Niagara Falls address for return address, so should I be using that address for the item location? Tracking would show actual location & route. I see nothing from the shipper saying I can use their address to indicate where item ships from. Wouldn’t it just look fishy?

WOOF! Yes you can use the US address or register for one of your own as your "return" address. You do have to remember that anything you have sent back OR return to sender go there. When you are buying postage from them from BC - I am pretty sure they are factoring the postage from there US location for drop off - not return address. YOu might want to connect with them just to make sure. Hope this helps.

when using the cross border services you inputted the american address.. how would we able to get one we can use? and what if someone wants to return something?

If you use cross border service, SOME offer full returns available to you, others destroy things vs. bringing them back across the border. So, you need to look carefully at that. What some folks do (like us) is have a US address just across the border as our return address and we go there every 3-4 months to pick up things. That can work for some folks.

WOOF! For returns, most cross borders wont do it - it just disappears. Some MAY allow you to complete a form for returns, and there may be a cost as well. Each is different. We recommend getting a US address if you can cross the border and have returns shipped to THAT address for you to pick up at another time.

How does this work with filing for taxes? Do you get taxed by both US and Canada?

You only pay taxes in the country you are located in. Your registered with eBay Canada even when you sell on the US platform and your money is deposited to you in Canada. So...if you claim that income...thats where you will be taxed

What happens if you enter 15$ US but the cost is actually around 12$ US? Do you pay the 15 and pay extra for the shipping or does the client pay (and pay extra needlessly)? Who gets the extra, the postal service or you or ebay? Thanks for the video btw, I'm totally new at this and plan to sell something on ebay this summer.

You keep the $$ unless you want to refund it. Just like if you put in too low you will ba e to cover the extra. Normally we refund of over $5 extra charged. Remember ebay charges you the fees on the shipping to, so this covers that!

But if you use cross border services, you also have to pay for the delivery to US address. So now, it's shipping to US + shipping from US. Isn't that expansive?

Not at all. It's still cheaper sending by USPS. Cross border companies charge approx $1-$1.50 per package BUT shipping using USPS is 50-75% cheaper than Canada Post for tracked packaged.

We drop off at a Cross Border shipper (Stallion Express or Chit Chats) in Toronto - they drive the package across the border to Niagara Falls/Buffalo nightly. From that location it is tracked and goes to the customer.

@@2DogsDigs Owww, so all you need for that is only a return address (which can be purchased as a service), and then you can simply use that address as the item location. Am I right? Because if you use a random address like the one you used in Buffalo, it serves you also as a return address, am I right?

If you are in Canada and have NOT signed up for managed payments you can link the account when you do that. If you are ALREADY in managed payment on Ebay Canada you CANNOT switch TO US FUNDS..

@@2DogsDigs I usually only list on desktop. I have issues with selecting the "international" shipping. I have gone without adding Canada for a year now. Perhaps there is some way to edit shipping options in my hub?

You should be able to see international options for shipping on all your listings - and in the video we show scrolling down to show them.

Hi Sir, How are you? Thanks for the valuable information. I have a question related to shipping. I have an eBay Canada seller account but I want to sell in the USA market. So I create a listing on eBay com and in domestic. I want free shipping and international, I selected the Canadian market and added shipping for international but when I check my listing in both markets they show shipping on both marketplace, but I want free shipping in the USA. How can I resolve it? I have another question when I create a listing in the eBay USA market can I only select USA domestic without selecting Canada as an international listing. Can I create a listing without selecting Canada as international and only selling in the USA market from my Canadian account?

Woof! You can have free shipping on anything for any market. Just set the amount at zero. As for selling only into the US...just don't select any international shipping for any markets. Then it will only sell in the US.

I make a free shipping in USA but adds shipping in Canada but in live listing shipping are shows on both market? I have ebay Canada account so when i will sign in ebay USA with my Canadian details so then is it possible or no issue if i create a listing only for USA without selecting Canada? You talked at the end of the video about getting a USD account. Can I have both a CND account for my CND sales and a USD account for my USD sales?

Unfortunately No. You habe to decide what currency you want to be paid in when you set up managed payments. If you have listed a CDN $ account then anything you sell that was listed on the US site will convert to Cdn when paid to you (and yes there is a small conversion fee too of course).
