After trying deal sites and Shopify store, Vina settled for Etsy to sell her product. In Etsy, just like other platforms, you have to make sure your listing has a good title, has good pictures and you are offering your customers what they are looking for. Vina did this by learning what people were searching for and optimized her listing using keywords. This led her to make $20k from ONE shirt.
Having that many orders, Vina had to deal with the fulfillment part to get the orders to her customers. She used her Shipstation account and also Etsy shipping to deliver all these orders. Etsy shipping helped her manage her orders in the click of a button with the same price as ShipStation. She breaks down the numbers involved when selling on Etsy for us.
She advises us that you should look at Etsy as a deal site where you can build your brand. It’s a great place for someone who is starting out because you don’t have to build the perfect store. This is genius, soo much value in this video it’s crazy. I’ve watched many Etsy videos and THIS is the one 🙌🏽. I had to realize that you HAVE to sell what is trending. If you’re an influencer or have a huge audience on social media ( KZbin or whatever else) … maybe you can sell whatever you really want… but starting out, just follow the data and sell what has super high search volume. Deb, I would try it both ways to see which one gets you more traffic. It’s only 0.20 cents and you will gain insights on which listing attracts your customers.

I haven't started with Etsy yet but like Vina says, trying both ways can give you a path. I DID watch another Etsy seller who has helpful videos (JennysWreathBoutique) that said if you give multiple choices in one listing (colors, sizes, etc.) it is easier to get a "Best Seller" label. That might be something to consider when you build your product base a bit.
