I love how you boiled down everything important in this video into such easy terms! It's quite easy to spot a 'troll' from afar once you get to speak to different clients. These people don't even understand how obvious their behaviour could be sometimes. I actually once asked Etsy to step in to help me deal with a client in this 'give me a refund' situation, and Etsy supported me, so I didn't have to give a refund. It wasn't about money at that point; it was just proving the point. I think you need to get perfect scores on Etsy to be supported, though. Otherwise, a refund is the best call 💜

Thank you for the video. I wonder how Etsy can so easily shut down a tarot reader’s shop but some other shops can do whatever they want. I ordered once a printed knitting pattern from the UK shop (I am located in the EU) but it didn’t arrive. I got my refund after I gave it enough time to arrive or not arrive but it seems it was never even shipped. And the seller didn’t even bother to answer my messages. A year later the shop is still thriving despite the fact that one of 10 reviews are like mine about the item that never arrived.

I read the official terms on Etsy that says you cannot sell Reiki or spells and have watched a couple other videos which has left me a little confused. Are you okay selling things like spells as long as you emphasize that you are selling the digital product (image etc.) rather than a result? And can you sell something like an audio healing if you say something like "this may help with" or "for this" rather than saying it is a healing? In your example you say money oil. How can you describe that without claiming it attracts money?

thanks for this .. been so reluctant to sell tarot readings on etsy, is there an actual divination listing? or do we put on generic metaphysical section, also can i assume reiki healing can be listed of offer a tangible product - ie a report

I don't think there is a divination section in Etsy. Most of the readers I know just use the generic metaphysical section and clearly label the listing as a tarot reading ie. 5 card romance tarot reading, 10 card birthday tarot reading. That way the listing is clear and it's easy to find on a search. Reiki healing can be listed, but you should avoid the word healing in the title. Etsy does not allow any health claims so you have to be careful in your wording. Lots of listings do use the word healing, but there's evidence that they routinely remove listings (and shops) that claim to provide a health service. People looking for Reiki will look for it by name anyway so it's safer to just say Reiki and leave off the word healing. Offering a report or similar like I've suggested for tarot would satisfy the tangible product requirement for Reiki too.

Hey! I have a Pre recorded video that I need to forward to my clients and since it’s a digital download I don’t know what file to upload because my Pre recorded videos are usually 3-4 gb size files that can’t be uploaded as an 80 mb file limit on Etsy. What’s the solution for this?

I would either zip the file or save it in a lower resolution either option will reduce the file size. I'd also send it through e-mail instead of uploading to Etsy. My wife puts the videos (in private mode) on youtube and just sends her clients the link

You do not have to have any of that to start a business on Etsy. They will want to confirm your identity though so be ready to share that information.

Etsy doesn't allow any product that makes a health claim. You could get around it by calling it an "energy exchange" or something similar and then offer it as part of something else that you can provide a tangible good for. Then you'd be back to looking at a video or write up that they can keep for future reference.
