A good suggestion Muhammad, you can send money from Pakistan but not from PKR. If you want to send money outside Pakistan you'd need to use Swift and send to an external account denominated in either USD, GBP or EUR. Learn more here: wi.se/swiftpayments Hope this helps 👍

Great walkthrough, thanks! For those who are still confused about whether Wise works in Pakistan or not, it depends on what "works" means here. 1. You could send/transfer money to someone in Pakistan (as shown in the video) 2. You can open individual accounts from Pakistan but multicurrency accounts are no longer offered (new accounts won't have USD, GBP, .etc) so they are not that useful 3. If you have a business account where the business is incorporated in the US but trading address is of Pakistan then you will no longer be able to use USD accounts 4. Wise debit cards are not available in Pakistan

Also I want to do a transaction as its coming directly from US so I can avail tax exemptions. Right now I am using debit which comes very quickly but its wise doing local bank transfer from a local account which makes our money subject to tax. Thank you

Only some countries can link a bank account to Wise. For example, U.S. users can link their accounts via ACH. Currently, Wise supports linking bank accounts for users in three countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Availability varies based on regional regulations and systems. You're most welcome, Arzo 🙂 Keep in mind that for PKR transfers, both sender and recipient's account must be personal, not business. Hence if the money comes from your Wise business account, you won't be able to send it to your local bank account. As an alternative, you can send the money to an external account outside of Pakistan in a different currency. However, if the money comes from your personal Wise account, In general, you can send it to your local bank account in Pakistan by following these steps: wi.se/sendfrombalance However, keep in mind that there are two bank accounts that don't allow any IBFT credit from any channel, or don't allow any inward local transfers: 1. Wow, I have never seen a company do this A KZbin channel and announcing your new features is just awesome, but. I have a question. I signed up on wise like two to three weeks ago and it clearly stated that I cannot receive funds, but I can send funds if I'm in Pakistan Is that changed now? Cause even now, if I log into my wise account, it only gives me the option to send money and there's no option to receive money. So I'm not sure if it's still not available in my state. which is Punjab. Or do I need to delete the account and create a new account?

Hi there! Thanks for the shout out. To answer your question, at this time, customers in Pakistan can only send money since balances aren't eligible there yet. Because the balances feature is not yet available, customers can't receive and hold money into their Wise account. However, as an alternative to receive money, you can mark your external bank account as a primary account on your Wise account, meaning when another Wise user sends you money, you'll receive it directly into your external bank account. You can learn more about this option here: wi.se/markprimaryaccount Also, please note that each customer can only have one account, so deleting and creating a new account isn't possible, and may result in issues in the future.
