I m gonna do this! Great tip. One thing I've been doing, that I will combine with this: For longer or more specific notes... I will write my note on the PDF, so I can reference and/or quote what I need from the pdf. Then I cut my note and paste it into my notebook. :)

I thought about writing a program on PC that would put a blank page every other page or so that would be run before transfering it to reMarkable. Assuring that you'd always have enough space for your notes even with densly written or packed documents

Uglavnom, samo napred, nadam se da ti se ovoliki trud isplaćuje nekako. Ako ne, samo je pitanje vremena kad će nove ideje da ti se jave. Baš kvalitetno i temeljno radiš sve!

Thanks for this workaround. In the current software version, that you did not have at the time you made the video, there is now a "drag two fingers from the top" gesture, which brings up recently opened documents. Doing this, instead of closing the doc with a one finger drag, avoids having to move documents to the same folder or mark them as favorites.
@frankboddy28824 жыл бұрын
You can also associate documents in different folders temporarily by marking them all as Favourites (star) , and following Voja's instructions :)

Something I've noticed while testing your solution is that we don't necessarily need to put the document and notebook under the same folder. It also works if we add both on favorites, and open the document / notebook from the favorites menu. Did you test that solution? The shortcuts work there as well!

An elegant solution to this would be a feature to toggle and hide layers. You could toggle between several different markup contexts. This feature would be so easy to add. Most of the code is already there.
@MyDeepGuide4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, layers are already there in the document, however it's not possible to export a marked up document with the base layer hidden, unfortunately.
@PooleyX4 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't it be easier to create a layer on document page and write your notes on that?
@MyDeepGuide4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you want the notes to be a part of the document. However, people often want a separate notebook where their notes are, and it's not possible to export the document with the background (document) layer hidden. Also, often times, you won't have physical room where to write your notes on a normally filled up document page.
@frankboddy28824 жыл бұрын
@@MyDeepGuide there is a workaround to hide a layer when exporting, which is to insert a "white layer" above the layer you wish to hide. Messy, but effective, I've done it myself.

Thanks for all the good content! It is very useful, and I continue to hope that you are independent and that the only ‘bribes’ you get are maybe a few gadgets to test from the manufacturer.. Apparently, the software of the reMarkable 2 is not at the same level as the hardware.. In your opinion, what are the chances that the software will be significantly updated with new possibilities (e.g. the missing function you point out in your video)?
@MyDeepGuide4 жыл бұрын
I don't know yo be honest. These missing features have been missing for 3 years, and apparently a calligraphy brush (cool as it may be) seems to be a bigger priority than standardized and more complete functionality of the device. Do I think they have the capacity and capabilities to fix all of those issues, absolutely. Do I think they will? Absolutely no idea. It's equally plausible to me that they continue ignoring their users and just do their thing, or they could turn around and consider the benefits of actually listening to the customer concerns.

Why do you keep your reservation for a Remarkable 2? I mean, you see all it’s limits plus you went through all that pain already with the Remarkable 1 - which you could stick with as a cheaper alternative.
@MyDeepGuide4 жыл бұрын
Could you elaborate what you mean that I "keep my reservation"? I'm not sure I understand what you mean? EDIT: oh, you mean pre-order?
