Fantastic video Anthony. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the tips on straightening out the bottom edge of the bucket. And the scraper bar adjustment. And that paint is perfect.

This was great. Thank you! I do about 16 different driveways that are mostly asphalt with some pavers & concrete thrown in the mix. On the 1332ATD, I use 8 mm height gauges just because it tends to work the best for me. I made the mistake of not adjusting it after I purchased from the dealer and ended up curling my bucket in some places. If you clear snow for a living, the scraper bar is very much a consumable.

These videos have been great. I picked up an old HS55 from an estate sale and have been bringing it back to life. new carb and maintenance like this has definitely made a difference. One of the augers is absolutely frozen stuck and I'm wondering if it's even worth trying to break free. It's currently sitting in PB blaster. hopefully your method works!

Patience is the key. I have worked on Hundreds of Honda's in my retirement and am just trying to share what I have learned from my mistakes , haha. BTW I love the old 55's. I have one for my deck.

I am rebuilding an HS724 where both augers were absulutely rusted onto the auger gear box axle's and with the 2 augers and gear box removed from bucket, I stood it vertically and would spray PB Blaster in the open (threaded) end of shaft adn let the PB Blaster do its work. I would install the bolt, flip the augers adn then spray PB BLaster down that side of the auger insides, letting the penetrating oil do its magic. I had to wait a MONTH for this daily routine to work BUT no heat was used at all and therefore no damage to gear box seals. removed augers, sanded the crap out of rust, and have been soaking the (three) tiny axles of the gear box in metal rescue and am about to reinstall all parts...after I paint the augers (ay day now). its a labour of love and if you do NOT NEED this HS55 (I love mine), then do not rush the procedure.

@@mikejohnson1228 I'm in Illinois so I might have a month or so before any heavy snow comes. The shear bolt is rusted to the impeller (go figure) so as opposed to removing the whole auger assembly I've tipped it on its side and removed the bucket panel to spray penetrating oil down the shaft. I drained the oil and gas from the engine, do I need to worry about anything else keeping it tipped on its side?

Quick question. That bolt that goes on the outside of the auger, to hold the auger in the housing (the hole you put the liquid wrench in) what size is that ? Just found that I lost mine. Not the smaller 3 bolts surrounding to, the one in the middle.

m8x1.25 pitch. not sure of length 16-20mm should be okay.
