Great video. I fixed my line brake with a 1 1/4" OD x 1" ID x 1/8" O-ring. Popped right on, no glue, and it stops the line.

Nice! My next video I finished filming is on a Zebco 20/30 with a rotten line brake.

I have begun to disassemble, clean , and reassemble my Dad’s reels.So far 4 reels complete.Today i disassembled a ProSTAFF 20/20. Your video on this reel was very helpful when reassembling! THANK YOU very much! However, I do not have the equipment to sand down a RUBBER GROMMET to the correct size. Guess That I will just put on a shelf and remember all of the days that my Dad and I, fished using this reel! All of your video’s are so helpful! Thanks again!

See if you can find a rubber o-ring that will work. Good job getting those Zebcos back into operation!

Perfect , tuned up both of my old non-functional units that we had bought for the kids when they were young. They work like new again and ready for brook trout and other adventures when the kids they visit as adults now. Sadly no grandkids yet.

Thanks, Matthew, for another great video. I've saved most of your reel repair videos. Great way to spend an evening during a blizzard. I'll be servicing my ice fishing gear, soon.

Ice fishing is just another 3-4 months away depending on where you live. Do you use Zebco spin cast reels for ice fishing or do they get to much ice in/on them?
@keithnavarro29303 жыл бұрын
@@OutFishing13Matthew Matthew, I don't use spincast reels for ice fishing. I have a few spinning reels but like to use jigging sticks and tip-ups. I made a "Green Hornet" just like Max Goldman used on "Grumpy Old Men". I've used it to fish a few times. Caught some bluegills on it.

Hello- I use my old reels. One of the biggest problems I have found is the plastic foot becomes brittle with age and cracks/breaks. I now lightly score the bottom and interior of the foot then fill with JB weld. Smooth it off with a popsicle stick. It gives the old plastic a “Skeleton” of sorts. Have not had one break since-
@OutFishing13Matthew Жыл бұрын
Wow that is brilliant!. I bet you could JB Weld a strip of aluminum can on there and make it even stronger. Composite reel foot! Man that would work! Keep sharing your great ideas!

We are doing fine here in Utah. The thing we have contended with for over a month is the smoke from the fires burning in CA and OR. Terrible. Just Terrible. Hope you get out a little bit this year. I got some good fishing videos coming soon. Stay tuned.

The Prostaff was meant to be a "professional" quality of reel and made for use in salt water, since all the part were corrosion resistant. It is a nice reel, but you cannot get new parts for it. I think this one will just stay in a collection.

Great video! But I need at least a few Zebco parts for my ProStaff reel. Do you have any good sources for the thumb stop or star drag? Thanks!

I don't. The best place to check is the Facebook, Zebco, Shop and Swap. Some fellows have lots of parts reels. Take a photo and make a post. Someone should reply. Tell them Matthew from OutFishing13 sent you.

Hi Matthew, I've found an old ProStaff 20/30 that my dad bought for my mom, probably back in the late 70's or early 80"s. I'm definitely going to fish with it some this year and wondered if you could tell me what size and how much line these reels were rated for? Thanks
@OutFishing13Matthew2 жыл бұрын
Sounds great! I would recommend 8-10 pound test. I am guessing you can put 100 yards of 8 and 80 yards of 10. Use a quality mono.

When you service the ZEBLO 2020 you failed to show the spring in the switch at the back of the real and how it went in to allow the switch to pop back out the spring can be broken not allowing the switch to come back out that can be part of the service on this ZEBLO also, the spring can break or come loose quite frequently on this model

it says ball bearing drive but cant find ball bearing inside, and it has 2 snaps holding inner works into housing that are difficult to press down to release not shown on this video. also the 2010 is near same diamiter and size as the micro reels series. mine says 20/10 and is black with gold cap. the guy I got it from had another that said 2010 and was all silver color. only schematics online say for 2010b/2020b but show dif housing and parts with reversable crank right/left side and 2 bearings. then for model 2010n/2020n that look like mine and this one in video. no 2010ps/2020ps found
