There are more scissor trapsthat cost a few bucks more that work great - less complicated. Just put the forks down in the tunnel and step on trap to set - when tripped, there's usually a dead mole.

Hey man.. have you seen the gopherhawk trap.. you don't have to dig a big hole and it seems to work. I will be buying some. Less of a hassle to set up it seems and less damage to the yard by just making a bigger hole. I am going barbaric now.. I am done trying the other methods..

Wish I had that soil. Ours is like a gravel pit with a little dirt added. Scissor traps won't work in our yard as the soil is too loose. Harpoon traps is all I have been able to have any success with.

The springs on the newer ones are trash unfortunately. Wish I had the older one like in this video.

Yeah I found that out too, they used to be made out of steel and now they’re aluminum. You can set the new traps bare handed, you can probably find some old traps on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist

Nice trapping. The new Victor out of sight traps are aluminum and weak springs, they DON'T WORK Chinese cheap quality.

Having trapped moles myself for years with Out O Sight traps, I was recently disappointed. Victor Pest evidently decided to cheapen these traps to the point of ridiculous. One of my new traps broke when setting it and the other trap I could set without the levers. That is how weak they have made the spring. I live on 2 acres of sandy loam and I use to be able to set these traps just like a Wire Tek scissor trap. No digging just jam them in and set. The new traps with their weak components I can no longer do that. I have moved on from these traps and use scissor traps now by Wire Tek or anyone else. I wrote Victor Pest about their latest release of this trap and it's cheap/weak design. Basically they didn't care.

Yeah All of my traps are the old style, they are steel with a lot of force. My buddy did buy some new ones and said the same thing and I think they’re made from aluminum. I would look for used ones off Facebook market place or Craigslist, fortunately I have a lot of the old style. Thanks for watching!

@@rock-on-adventures yes the new ones aren’t strong enough. Distributor states March of 2022. But they also told us October 2020 and still don’t have them.

I work in pest control and I agree, the new ones are cheap. They feel like half the weight and you can set them by hand way too easily. Hopefully they go back to making the traps the way they used to. We still have plenty of the old ones thankfully, we'll be taking good care of so hopefully we don't have to use the newer ones too often.

@@jasonmarlowe76 Who needs the trap? There's my method: dig out the mole hill, plop a chair down, load the rifle. Grab your favorite cigar, favorite whiskey, and wait. My wife loves this method because I'm out of the house and she doesn't have to deal with me for a few hours.
