Today I was driving my 2023 Forester Touring on the highway and I was using the lane centering option. As I travelled at 60 mph, I drove by a left lane turn and my Forester decided that it needed to turn too and went across the center line. Thankfully, there was no oncoming traffic. I quickly corrected the motion of the car and turned off the lane centering for the rest of the trip. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I really like the adaptive cruise control.

Alex, your video is helpful and I have been using the cruise control for interstate driving and like the way it functions. There is one problem I have.....there is this beeping that occurs when a car moves in front of me, even at the set distance or when the lead car moves out of my lane. This beeping even if a car passing to the side of me. Over time it gets quite annoying. What's up with that and can it be turned off? Thanks, SC

I love the adaptive cruise control but remember that you are in control and if the adaptive cruise control slows your car down say from 50 to 30 because of traffic and the car in front of you changes lanes if the adaptive cruise control doesn't see a car in front of you the car will IMMEDIATELY jump back up to 50.

When you stop at a light with my 2015 Outback, the car will hold it's position until the car in front moves. On my 2019 Crosstrek, you have to toggle up before the 3 beeps in order to maintain the stopped position. This continues over and over until the car in front of you moves. So I use the adaptive cruise control, and I feel that I have to accelerate and brake on my own sometimes. And the ACC turns on, and I have to press up on the (res+) to restart it. Is there anyway I can make the cruise control start again without pushing up cause then I have to let go of the wheel and it's difficult when you're on freeway. So for example, if I have the cruise control on with set speed of 50MPH but I decide to acclerate and go 60MPH to keep up with flow of traffic then ACC will stop and I have to press res again to start it. How do I make it start again without the res?

Say that one comes with the cruise control at 50 mph and a roundabout is ahead.. one would press the brakes and deactivate the cruise control. Is there an option to resume the cruise control to 50 mph by pressing a button? Or does one need to press the gas to get to speed and then lock it ? Thanks

@alexpmo3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the automatic braking will still work without cruise control. However, it will only automatically brake when you’re getting ready to rear end someone and may not prevent it fully. It still requires you to brake on your own as you normally would when the adaptive cruise control isn’t set.

I just got a 2022 Forester Limited - I accidently pushed the 'S" and "I" buttons the right side. It shows on the screen and no one can tell me how to release them to turn it off. Can you help?
@alexpmo Жыл бұрын
By default, your subaru will always be in "i" mode when you start it up. If you accidently click "s", you can just click "i" to switch it back. If you were curious, "i" stands for intelligent model, which is going to give you gradual acceleration and "s" sport mode will give you more acceleration. This is only a subtle change in driving.

Also when I set cruise control on freeway say 65 with the farthest distance stop, when the car ahead of me stops, my car will stop too without me hitting brake? and when the car ahead of me moves, do i need to do (hit resume for example) something for it to move or it will move by itself? When can I use the resume button?
@alexpmo3 жыл бұрын
When cruise control is set, the car will automatically slow down and also come to a complete stop if the car in front of you slows down or comes to a complete stop. When the car in front of you continues or moves out of the way, your car will automatically resume to the cruise control speed that you set.

Hi. Just got my 2021 Forester. Question: the cruise control stops when you step on a brake. How do you turn it on again? Like when you slowed down in a roundabout and wants to activate the cruise control again after your exit? For now it does not seem to activate itself automatically so I turn it off, turn it again and set the speed again. Is there an alternate way of doing it?
@alexpmo3 жыл бұрын
If you tap on the brake, it will deactivate cruise control. There are instances where you’ll need to turn cruise control off like the example you gave in the roundabout. In which case, you just simply tap your brake to deactivate. Once you’re ready to put cruise control back on, just get to your desired speed and click down on the set switch on the right hand side of the steering wheel

Alex- Is there any way to use adaptive cruise control like a traditional cruise control without having EyeSight automatically adjust the distance between cars? Or an option to disable that? Also how does EyeSight respond when someone cuts in front of you very close?
@alexpmo2 жыл бұрын
You can use traditional cruise control by clicking and holding on the up arrow button on the right side of the steering wheel. Clicking and holding this button toggles back and forth between the traditional and adaptive cruise control. When someone cuts you off, the eyesight will detect that and automatically brake as necessary.

Hey Andrew, that’s a common question I get! I haven’t figured out how to program the driver’s side mirror for reverse. My guess is that the US models might only tilt the passenger side in reverse to help with parallel parking (because the curb would be on the passenger side 90% of the time) I’ll be sure to make a video about this if I find out a way to program the driver’s side.

Is there a difference between lane centering and lane keep assist?
@alexpmo3 жыл бұрын
They’re both very similar. Lane centering only works when cruise control is on. It actively looks for the lines on the left and right side of the lane and uses the power steering to keep you centered in your lane. Lane keep assist works without cruise control and will gently nudge the steering wheel back in your lane when you get too close to either side of the lane. Hope this helps!
