How to set G23, H22 Timing belt tension using manual tensioner.

damn i needed this video like last week while I was replacing my timing belt and water pump, I put in a 1320 manual tensioner but when i put it too tight it was making a loud noise, when i loosen it the sound went away. Im still trying to figure out the balance shaft timing, the service manual said to put a 6mm bolt inside the service hole and other say to line up the lines with the mark. when i put the bolt inside the balance shaft the lines on the gear doesn't match up

Oh man! Too bad but keep turning the wheel till the line lineup and insert the bolt. Bolt can go 2 ways. I have a video of it on how to do the b/s. I'll update my playlist if ypu stlll need it.

If it's off 1 teeth, motor sound like its gonna explode. You must correct it.

i must be hella OG cuz i used a coat hanger at the street races when i jumped timing back in 2006 when i was 17

I do the same, but me personally I don’t make it real tight because the tensioner will adjust as you drive the car with time
