I try, but some are not as easy as others! Thanks for the note - Dennis

Hi Dennis, Great timing !! As luck would have it a nice 302 is on my depth finder for early next week! There's also a sweet Karmann 41 and 2 Penn Long Beach 65's. Fish On, Bro... Thanks, Cons

I got a Karmann a few years ago at a flea market outside of Ft Lauderdale for just a few dollars. It is a very nice reel. Interestingly lt had an Orvis 100 spool on it. I don't know if it was just a lucky fitter if the brands were related by manufacturer - Good luck with the auction

I watched your Karmann 41 video thoroughly over the last couple of days !! Looks pretty straightforward. There's a possibility from info I've seen that this is a Daiwa made reel. Will let you know if I'm successful in getting the reel Mon. and whether or not it has an Orvis spool ?

Hi Dennis I was hoping you may know the answer regarding the Garcia Mitchell 302. Dennis I have a few 302,s and had many other's in the past one thing I always noticed was the bail wire new or used when I flipped the bail wire back it catches the trip lever perfect and the bail wire works fine flipping back he is the question how come the bail wire doesn't go back enough so the line has a nice release it always hits the bail wire I hope you have a answer I know if you know what you are doing you can bend the ball wire just a little and easy otherwise you can snap it. Was there a design flaw with that reel and bail wire
@2ndChanceTackle19 күн бұрын
It is probably a bent bail wire causing your issue. There normally is enough clearance for the line to cast out without hitting the bail.

Any tricks on getting the screw to turn out that holds the knob on the spool? (Just keeps turning everything) I've had about 10 of these 302's and never had that problem.
@2ndChanceTackleАй бұрын
That is odd. If all else fails use an impact driver )small Hammer drill with he wide bit to try and jar it free. Make sure to try soaking the screw area with penetrating oil before your final attempt - The driver may snap the screw off, but at that point, it would most assuredly be frozen beyond removal anyway - Dennis

Dennis - I thought replacing the bail spring on a Mitchell 300 is hard. Looks easy compared to the 302. Any bail spring supplier that you recommend? I have been hit or miss on bail springs for the 300. Thanks and have a great weekend! Tad
@2ndChanceTackle3 жыл бұрын
There are no new old stock suppliers. It is a hit or miss proposition and usually the best source is from an Ebay seller - Thanks for asking - Dennis

If the pin doesn't want to go all the way in what could that be a sign of?
@2ndChanceTackle8 ай бұрын
Which pin? The one that is holding the bail open? Use a penetrating oil like WD40 to spray that mechanism. That should help it retract

@@2ndChanceTackle yes, it did help, thanks!
