How to Set the Correct FFB Settings on ACC for all Wheelbases

Sharing my findings on how to set up the correct force feedback settings for Assetto Corsa Competizone. This is a guide to help you set up your FFB settings correctly and get the best out of ACC on any wheelbase.

McLaren FFB is quite low. One car that I like to dial my FFB is the Porsche 922 Cup Car. Then go by car with FFB strength when in car so that setting gets stored on a by car basis.

Personally I can't drive anymore without 100 gain. I can't tell when I'm under/over steering and it's mandatory imo.

hi, for a direct drive wheel, if I don't want to use the whole FF, would you say it's better to increase the gain in the game and lower the FFB in the wheel settings? Or should I lower the gain in ACC and raise the FFB in my wheel settings? For reference, I have a simagic alpha mini which provides 10Nm max but I cannot drive using more than 6

Either i'm missing something or i'm too weak for a Direct wheel, i cannot even do a half lap with those settings, Strengh is 100% in True Drive and 70% ingame... waay to strong, prob is i see many guys online use such settings and can do proper lap times

I think you will get used to it, You dont have to start with higher FFB, start with something comfortable. Raising it will give you more feedback and fertility but it’s not a deal breaker if you like lower FFB levels. After some time i got used to it, mind you in some cars i still have to lower it

100% in software and 70% in game is pretty strong if you consider what strength this wheelbase can deliver. Start with 30-40% in game and tune up slowly if you think you can handle it. Too much force on a DD base can be seriously dangerous if you can't handle it. With 30-40% in game you should still feel all details.

Thanks for your comment, honestly i wouldn’t know cause i don’t have a PS5 and i’m not sure what kind of settings you have access to through the console. You are probably using a wheelbase that’s PS5 compatible as well so might be a very different set up

If your wheel has less than 21nm this does not help. If you have 12nm and have drive on 30-40% of force might as well just stick with belt

It is important to leave the direct input damping settings in truedrive at 100% because otherwise the in game dampening setting has no effect. You need less damping in truedrive that way. Its always better to set the damping in game than with truedrive if possible (for all games). And how can you drive with 70 in game strenght? 😮That is undrivable for me. I use only 24 -28 and its still strong enough for me.

I actually ended up changing a lot of things. The updates in ACC specially 1.9 changed the feel dramatically so I’m still setting it up. Might make an update video when I reach something meaningful but at the moment I’m still not happy with any settings. Thanks for the damping tip will try that. Yes 70% was a lot but I drop the FFB multiplier per car. Currently I’m running less gain

Not sure whats going on with my wheel. Its a gomez formula wheel which is quite heavy. In order for me to remove most of the oscilation (still a little left) I have to turn the damping up to 39 which seems way to high. Any advise? My thanks for your great work!!

Thanks, you are very welcome. I think it’s ok if you go high on damping as long as you eventually reach the desired FFB your want. There is no right or wrong. Every wheelbase is different and manufacturers tune them in different ways

watch ArisDrives video on FFB settings. he actually recommends starting at full damping wheel settings and adjusting damping in-game. he's on the Kunos dev team so if you need a starting point, start there.

Curious if you're tried this with a DD2. 70 Gain in game, 60 on wheel and it is 16Nm or more. 50 Damper in game, 100 damper on wheel and 50 NatDamper on wheel. The M4 GT3 tries to rip the wheel out of your hands when you very modestly test the damping. So either you have to turn up the damper MUCH higher, or there is just no way to safely run forces that high in ACC, at least in the M4. This latest patch has done something with the damping/FFB

Hey, I’m terribly sorry for the late reply. I’m not sure the DD2 might be set up differently. I can tell you that i ended up lowering the FFB per car for almost every car i drive. The whole point of this is to minimize any filters and just let the game send all the info in and then control the power per car separately. Hope that helps and sorry again

in the part when you talk about the gain, what is exactly clipping??

In the gear/speed/throttle/brake hud there is an FFB output and it goes red when your feedback is flipping. This means that when FFB is high in certain situations like going on a curb or through a fast corner when tires are loaded you are loosing detail. If you it goes red then it’s recommended that you lower your gain to make sure you are not loosing any details. It’s ok if it clips briefly in corners or going over curbs but try to avoid having clipping all the time. Think of it as audio signals. If you have a very loud amplifier and the speakers can’t handle the output you loose clarity and details. It’s fine during a loud drums solo but you don’t want that to be happening throughout the song :) sorry I know it might be a stupid analogy

Would it be better to turn down the torque in simucube to 70-80% and turn up the FFB in ACC ? Or keep the torque at 100% and turn down the FFB ? Because with your settings I’m struggling to get round corners

You can play around with it to get it to your liking, The whole point is making sure you are getting a real feel of what the tires are doing and using too many filters masks the FFB you should be feeling from the front axle. Each car would need some fine adjustments at the end, hope this was helpful

Allow 100% in your driver software and turn down the gain in game, per car as you need to. This will make sure you are not missing out details from the wheel base driver.

maan, you must be strong as arnold schwarzenegger..., I am not. With your settings I can do lap or two, but have to use all my force. And honestly tyre grip loss is the last thing I feel when I apply all my force to holding the wheel.

You can always adjust the settings per car, some cars are heavier than others, The whole point of this is to make sure you are getting the right signals sent to your wheelbase from the sim by eliminating clipping and oscillation.. You don’t have to go 100% FFB on every car. Hope this helps :)
