Why max steering angle 540 ? Assetto Corsa sets the steering angle for each car automatically . You need to activate it in Settings - Assetto Corsa - Controls - Axis - Steering -> tick the Auto-adjust scale to match car`s steer lock . Same thing applies for every sim. They all set the steering lock automatically for every car. Just set the steering angle to 900 in sim and wheel software .

Thank you! I was having trouble with the ffb settings in my r5, specially with open wheels in assetto corsa but this setup works great for me 👌

This is great info Mike, thank you sir! The R5 doesn't get a ton of love as far as assistance with setting up the FFB, so much appreciated. I will say that the R5 firmware has been a bit wonky lately for some reason, at least for me, so I've had to rollback firmware for the last couple weeks. But Moza users can always save their old presets and revert back to them if your settings don't work for them.

Will from Boosted Media did an R5 setup video as well. I agree with you for setting expectations correctly that your settings or anyone else's settings may not be for you.

You were the first and last person I ever asked for ffb settings in like 2016 with my T500. I believe they worked for a baseline for a brand new racer but I learned quickly you gotta figure it out on your own. Especially if you don’t have the same kind of wheel.

I've actually found that if I scale back on FFB strength in getting a lot more details (and no I'm not a noob). I used to rely heavily on the FFB meter in game in AC and always kept it below any red bars appearing (thus not clipping). But on a whim upped the minimum force settings to 0.2 and scaled back the FFB slider to 55%, then unpacked the cars data and lowered the cars FFB multiplier usually by 0.5, then lowered the cars steering assist from 100 to 15-25. It gave a wheel that was much more alive, with a boat load more road detail/in corner detail. BUT - that's just my personal preference... I'm running a CSW 2.5 for the record.

Very interesting. I always had a bit natural inertia and friction in Moza Pithouse. Tried your settings for AMS2 by setting those both to zero and inceasing damper ingame to 20. Very nice really. Thank you!

What I would prefer is that the default profile of the software or the wheelbase gets it right on near 100% realistic.

Hi Mike, glad to see you’re not using too much damper, there seems to be a trend to use way too much to combat oscillatiions without understanding the underlying feedback loop, too much damper just robs details. Your settings look like a very sensible starting place.

I would love to buy a direct drive wheel. I'm kind of looking at the Cammus C5 just as a taster for what a direct drive. Then when I can afford it a FANATEC CSL DD. I'm using a Playseat challenge because I don't have space for a static cockpit si I can't have a high power direct drive base and I use playstation 4 Pro as well as pc

Thanks for watching. I would probably turn down the road sensitivity in addition to turning down the gain. Other than that, it’ll be a bit of trial and error. And it’s funny that you mentioned DR2. I actually recorded a section for that title, and then deleted the B-roll by accident so I didn’t include it in this video, lol

I do like to feel some kerb and the bumps on the road. I drive Sims as well as a few arcade racers and the SCS truck Sims. In American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 it feels like the roads are as smooth as glass. It feels like there's no bumps on the road and that is a bit annoying. I don't like high damper in FFB. The biggest offender with Damper is Gran Turismo 7. (Yes simcafe or whatever. I enjoy the game) There's no way to reduce the damper in GT7 and it feels like damper us at maximum. I wish I could either disable it reduce damper a lot in the game.

I’ve had Fanatec, Moza and thrust master. I always went back to my Logitech g920. I drive better, feels better and I enjoy playing more with that wheel. Have the G923 now and I’ve modded the shifter and brake. I’m my experience you don’t have to buy thousands of dollars worth of racing gear to enjoy racing or even be competitive. There’s probably more competitive racers out there using the Logitech wheels who keep quiet about it.
@inomooshekki
@inomooshekki Жыл бұрын
you dont have to but there is no way you can compare the feeling of G920/29 series to something like CSL DD. If money isn't an issue, it's no brainer.

@@inomooshekki What you said. Comparing a Logitech child's toy to a DD wheel...I am sorry, you can't do that. I started with a Logitech Momo and worked my way up. Have an entry level DD now...but will be upgrading my base again to an R12 in the next 6 months. God willing of course.

@virtualmotorheads started at a logitech g29 as well and now use a DD pro at 8nm and have used a simicube 2 pro, logitech isn't a toy but it's not even comparable to the higher end DD wheel bases. So yea it does kinda feel like a toy. But that doesn't mean someone using expensive equipment can't ge faster than someone using top of the line equipment. That doesn't mean shit. I know people who race on controllers who are faster than most sim races on their wheels.

Not everybody will like your FFB settings. My brother doesn't like detailed FFB and he's asked me to feel what he feels while driving his Toyota avensis road car. I've said to him race cars will feel different and asked him did the feeling through his steering wheel feel the same with the three other cars he owned. He never had an answer to that and goes quiet. He's also said you don't drive a car primarily on the feel of the wheel and you go on the seat of pants feeling and weight transfer you feel on your body etc. I've told him that you need to feel more through your wheel because you don't have the real world physics you feel through the weight transfer and seat.
