unfortunately most people dont check that or understand it.. if you want to check total timming you need a timing light with advance function you wil be able to see actuall timming at idle and any rpm. so this instruction is for basic timming with shitty timming light.

Hello, i have a Volvo penta 4.3 GS. Do i need this tool? Can I directly set the timing advance directly following the chart in the manuale? 600 rmp -18°, 1000rpm - 21°. Using a normal strobo light. I set 10° on the light. motor at 1000rpm and I will see 0° on the damper marks.

What is the factory timing setting for a 1996 Volvo 4.3 GS with stamped steel oil pan, short reach plugs (Champion RV15YC4) and running 89AKI octane? Is it 0 degrees TDC or 6 degrees BTDC??
