There's a slightly simpler way to do the Control Room in Bitwig (with no need for the Audio Receiver). 1. Create an FX channel and label it "Control Room" 2. Set its input to "Master(POST)" 3. Set its output to be "Studio" 4. Turn its Monitoring to "On" (this replaces need for an Audio Receiver) 5. Add any analysers /calibration software on this Control Room FX channel 6. Change master to "No output" You will then be monitoring things through the Control Room FX channel but bounces will be of the Master which is pre Control Room. You can do the same thing with an Audio Track but FX Tracks are 0dB by default and it keeps the Control Room at the bottom of the track list next to the Master

I prefer to have the CR nested in the project, in a folder so it can be hidden. I end up using the FX quite a bit, and don't want to route something there by mistake etc. The receiver was just for an added channel, I think the simplest is the first method I described ;)

Good alternative. This is the way I'm doing it too, but that's just my preference. I can see a benefit to Dash's method too. The idea and basic setup is the same either way.

Super tip Dash - I was doing this before with a "mix" bus that I can render clean from the master (which had SoundID on it)...but the Audio Receiver tip is way better. And I'm doing it in FX Tracks to keep it clean. Now, I have 3 FX buses: Monitors, Mix Cubes, Headphones...all which have different SoundID EQ targets on them and I can mute/unmute them to do instant (poor man's) Mix cube translation testing. All while, Master stays clean. Thx!

Looking forward to seeing you start making more tutorials in Bitwig! While a lot of what you show transfers pretty easily across DAWs, some of it was quite Cubase specific. As a Bitwig user it should be a little easier to follow along with everything now :)

Cool. I have a similar setup, just I use the Bitwig Convolution to do the room and headphone correction, SoundID is a bit overkill imo.
@DashGlitch

Good tip, did you make an IR of your studio? that's actually good idea for a video! I tend to find Convolution plugs to be pretty CPU intensive, so maybe i'll go with the GPU audio which is really good and light on the CPU.

Interesting stuff. I was actually trying to find a way to make group busses that go into a mixbus and then out to the master with all the outputs. The headphone option is great, just got slate VSX . I guess I should use audiotracks like in Ableton?
@DashGlitch
@DashGlitch 20 күн бұрын
You should be able to group tracks with ctrl-G, it will automatically route them etc. It can be audio tracks or instrument etc.

Great :) When I preview a sound from the Sample Browser, it doesn't go through the Sound ID.. is there a work around? Can u pls link the original Baphometrix video? (with the corresponding time? :) ) BTW - i don't think u need the Audio Receiver.. you can: 1.Select the master out in the second channel input 2.Select output 3/4 (your headphones) and turn on the monitor. This way the sound will go to the speakers and the headphones at the same time (with difference sonarworks preset), and u will control the outputs with your soundcard mixer. The problem with audio receiver is when u press solo on one of the channels, the audio recover channel will be mute (There is no Solo Defeat yet).

Regarding that 2nd CR fot headphones - wouldn't it be enough to set it up as a separate layer on the main CR? Each layer is a full fledged "nested" channel, with its own I/O, sends, etc.
@DashGlitch
@DashGlitch 2 жыл бұрын
Yes true, but I don't want to always use it :) I only use headphones like 10-20% of the time, and having that in my output rack preset is just a waste of CPU i think.
@Artek604
@Artek604 2 жыл бұрын
@@DashGlitch You can always Alt+A that layer which disables all plugins and frees up RAM and CPU :)

just curious - in the case of your control room vs master. when you're in your settings, what do you set your audio out to? speakers or headphones, or ?

don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I did everything as in the first part of the video, and everything starts working. But when I add a new track or twirl something in the mixer, Bitwig throws a feedback error ( this happens if there are FX channels routed to the master

Maybe your control room is sent back to the master, which it shouldn't be?

Your videos rock! Question...I cant figure out how to setup a DJ cue mix in headphones for specific channels. I want to audition my synths before I bring them into the main mix. Do you know if there is a way to do that? I dont see a PFL button I ca assign, ableton has this does Bitwig? Thank you!
@DashGlitch
@DashGlitch Жыл бұрын
Yea you can adjust the outputs of the channel but I find it easier to create a send FX with the output to your headphones then send the channel you need to cue to that send FX

Thx for the tuto. I have a problem. I don't see any track in the "audio to track" part of my master? Does anyone know what the problem is?
@DashGlitch
@DashGlitch Жыл бұрын
because the audio track you're wanting to route to is routed to the master, and thus would create feedback. Watch over the first part of the video again if that doesn't make sense, because I do show it :)

I have a problem when I use the "studio" output, bitwig suddenly also "bleeds" audio on other channels of my audio interface while I have all outputs on the monitoring panel muted. Anyone else experience this problem?

make sure you have no input selected and monitoring on that channel
@sotem3608
@sotem3608 9 ай бұрын
@@DashGlitchFor testing purposes, I've tried to make a completely empty project, manually disabled all outputs disabled in the monitoring panel. I have one single track generating a test tone without any inputs, but an output to the master channel. And the master channel outputs to the "studio" output channel. I don't hear any sound from the speakers (because everything is muted). I haven't enabled any cue's, and I also haven't made any specific routing to the channels in my audio interface driver mixer. When I output the master to the speaker channel there is no problem, but as soon as I select the studio output (with all outputs disabled, and likewise all monitoring on inputs) suddenly I get the master audio "bleeding" through on my adat channels. I say bleeding, because it is very soft in volume, yet audible when amplified. Given all this, do you have any ideas? I've tried looking all over the place and also sent a support ticket to Bitwig.

...If I don't understand this, is it safe to say I dont need it? I did this and went to export some audio and only a few tracks were exported.. Lol However, I opened a new project, no Bus, and the audio exported fine.. I may not need to do this yet anyway but, figured, why not hahaha
