Ii have a couple questions about the system. Do the roots get out of control, and grow down into the reservoir? I've been watching this companies systems for awhile now and the one I want is never in stock. Diy-ed 1 sweet!

Hey, got one of these for Christmas, super excited, but I can't figure out how to get my plants out of my aerogarden and into the versagrow pots without killing them. Are the roots supposed to be going into the actual reservoir? or are they just kinda held up in the air by the clay pellets? how close to the roots are you supposed to put the dripping-spike? how many lettuce heads should I aim to have per pot? Thanks for the help

Hey Al ... what's the best way to empty the reservoir water when changing it out and how often should we be doing this? We are brand new to indoor gardening and just bought two VersaGrow systems on your recommendations. Thanks mate.

Hi there ,I just got 1 of these myself ,did you find anymore info on it?I'm wondering if adding a small water pump to just keep the rez water moving would be a good idea or not ,

@@jeffreid1947 - We did not have much success with the VersaGrow system default design and using clay pebbles ... the roots never grew out the bottom sufficiently to take on water properly and caused ongoing root rot for us. We looked at the AeroGarden design and morphed our systems over using AeroGarden pre-seeded pods ... so far, we have some edible salad greens and our cherry tomatoes are starting to flower ... whether they produce fruit is not yet known as the VersaGarden flowered but never fruited for some reason. We are considering dumping both of our VersaGrow systems including LED lights if you need parts to make an ebb and flow system work. We have all the pumps, timers, oxygen stones, lights, nutrients and a bunch of clay pebbles as well. Good luck with your growing ...

In addition, we configured a great way to empty the tanks using the pumps into storage bins with a 20 foot hose ... we can change out the water completely in less than 30 minutes. We installed a diverter valve in our laundry room ( condo ) with a flexible hose to refill the tanks ... that takes about 6-8 minutes on average. Our water is really cold so we lift the plants out of the tank(s) and set them aside for about 2-3 hours to let the water warm up a bit ( summer time right now ) however expect we may have to add some boiling hot water to the tanks when the temps go down a bit.
