Thanks for this! I have an elderly friend who just bought an iPad so she can shop on grocery delivery sites. I've been trying to help her simplify her screen so there are very few choices to confuse her. So this is very helpful. Also, she has severe Rhuematoid Arthritis and her hands are very crippled and painful. So can you give some suggestions for making it easier for her to navigate the apps without having to use her hands constantly?

@bluedragonfly Glad it was helpful! There are couple ways to use the iPad with arthritis. The easiest method we've found is to use a larger stylus like the Cosmonaut wide-grip stylus. It is thicker and grippy so it's easier to keep in the hand. The second and more difficult method is a feature iPads and iPhones have called Voice Control. It allows you to simply say what to tap, what app to open, and generally control the phone by speaking alone. It does have a learning curve since the basic commands will need to be memorized or read off a cheat sheet. It is not without its frustrations but if you're just reading we find it's a simple way to scroll or flip the page of a book. To activate it open the settings app -> show the search bar by moving your finger down the screen as if scrolling up -> type "Voice Control" -> tap the first result (it should say accessibility underneath it) -> switch the toggle to on. Some example voice commands will pop up, just let your friend know to say "Show me what to say" anytime to show that list of commands again. Not the easiest solution, but we've found keeping Voice Control on to do simple things like go back or scroll has been helpful along with a wide-grip stylus to use the screen for more touch specific tasks. It is certainly complicated enough to warrant a video, so I'll be sure to record one in the next few days to help showcase this feature more.

We wish! The name was inspired by a line in the movie Lilo and Stitch "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." Seemed appropriate :)
