Thanks so much for having this up! I've been wanting to stream from my consoles for ages, but the idea of figuring out a capture card and setting it up was really daunting. Nice, simple video on the device and some options! I got the awesome EVGA XR1 Lite budget capture card as I wanted to start getting more control over my streams from my PS4 (just as I have with my laptop). Now I can easily set thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and tap into my stream overlays which are a must for long streams! Thanks again.

Most capture cards do not take the load off a CPU. They just passed the signal through in a format the computer can use.

Question, if I hook up this to my console and TV like you showed can I leave it there and just plug in my computer whenever I want to record? I ask because I did just that. My computer is not plugged into the capture card but I'm not getting any image on my TV. So does the computer have to be connected as well just to get an image on my TV?

I'm using a similar capture card with my laptop, I play on Xbox with a monitor, and when I plug the HDMI cable from the console to the capture card I can see it on OBS but not on my main screen (monitor), do you know how can I see it on both screens?

Yea, just instead of connecting it to a monitor, connect it to the tv, then you will still have it all on the tv, but you can record on your pc

Now, when you are not streaming and just playing on your normal tv or monitor does the quality drop to what the capture card is capable of? For example: my xbox outputs 4k hdr, if my my card does 1080p will my tv only get 1080p while the card is connected?

So how do you get the capture card to work I have it plugged into my computer the USB port but how do you get it to work through an HDMI port for the picture since you obviously have to plug in your PS4, PS3 your Nintendo switch in an HDMI Port just to get a picture to begin with on your TV so how can you plug it in to your TV without seeing your video game because that has to be in a completely different port??? This is the issue I can never understand when putting these things together.

I use a dual monitor setup with my pc, so do I connect the capture card to either of those then, while theyre connected to the pc? Where it says "to your TV or monitor" I guess thats the monitor I play the game from the console?

if you are streaming from the twitch app on xbox i don't believe you'll need this product (or laptop). If you are doing it the other way around the answer is no. You can use the twitch website on your laptop and minimize it with OBS, or just use OBS once set up.

How would you set up a capture card to interface with a Webcam to get 4K recording ? I am looking at the Sony ZV1F as a Webcam, which for streaming only outputs 720P. I am told introducing a capture card is a workaround, so video saved in OBS can be 1080P or 4K

I'm having an issue with my set up for this as of this message, For some reason OBS is saying I have audio from my ps4 thru the capture card I'm using (not the same one as shown in this video for the record) but I can't hear it in my headset or anything? And it's not a problem with my headset, as I can still hear desktop audio normally, it's just that I can't hear the ps4 capture sound? I don't know how to fix this.. Was hoping to stream today but that's not gonna happen if I can't fix this xD
