I cant tell you how grateful I am for this. I had spent ages trying to delete. I think the tuning knob combo was the only button I hadn't tried while the DELETE was displayed. Thanks chaps!

There is a missing step (at least when I did it), at the point the phone is attempting to connect, there was a message on the Clarion display saying (something like), "Volume Yes, Back No". At this point you have to press the left knob ("Confirm"), to complete the pairing process.
