You can "lock" items to your inventory by pressing Z on them so they won't bulk transfer anymore

Came to say just this. I just wish it would permanently keep items marked once you mark them. If you move them out of your inventory and back later they lose that mark.

Just a quick tip for the oil, since you mentioned nuts being valuable for that: Use the seeds instead. Convert the nuts to seeds and make oil from that. It costs the same amount of items (5, if I recall correctly), but when turning 1 nut into seeds (which takes next to no time at all), you get multiple seeds. So instead of using 5 nuts, you're using 5 seeds. So in turn, you're getting a lot more oil from the same amount of nuts. Think it's something like 2 seeds per nut (which is gets benefits from your planting level, so you can actually get more), so you're doubling your cooking oil production by doing this, by default - and even more, with higher planting level.

Anything in your inventory you don't want to move you can mark with Z like your campfire and bandages, it will put a little star on it and G will not move it

One thing to be aware of, some items are a part of multiple categories, and the additional ones are not listed on the item description. Also, if you have chests locked to specific items, tribesman will try to put items in those chests first before they find another hole to cram the item into, so the order of precedence seems to be; find a chest specifying the exact item for storage, if not, then find a chest with the same category, if not, find any open chest, if not, store in tribesman's inventory.

Instead of dragging from 1 inventory to the other you can also just highlight over with the mouse and press "Q". Just fyi, in case those who didn't know yet.

Set Preference to stop auto deposits when using G. Note the search field at the top right when setting chest categories. You can use that to narrow it down even further.

@KiahOnFire , if you press "Z" on items in your personal inventory or mount you can lock those items and never have to worry about them with mass transfers. :)

Can you make a chest where you could dump all your inventory things and then have a tribesman go sort and put all those items in the correct chest ? That would be cool

Yeah, I'm curious about this myself. I know you can assign a tribesman to empty a specific item out of a specific container, then put it IN a specific container as another order.... But doing every single item one by one would be quite a daunting task, and I'm not sure if there's a limit to how many tasks you can give one tribesman.

I tried to do this. I got 1/4 of the way through the drop down with taking and storing then the NPC got bugged and the game thought it was my main so I couldn't add more tasks. Idk if it was a bug from having too many work entries, but I haven't done another one to see if it happens again cuz that alone was like an hour of work.

@@steveridley8642 Yeah, I separated my chests into ~38 categories, then did about 30 of them on a tribesman. I told him to 'Put Away' the 30 chests worth of items, then just dump all my stuff on him. Saves me from having to re-do the 30 chests worth of items as a 'pick up this item from chest' workload.

I’ve got a Dump Chest that the tribesmen sort out of into chests. It’s still easier than going to the chests myself, although setting up the jobs is a pain.

i want you to share this , i cant understand how to set the tribemen to sort. Is it possible for real to put everything inside one box and then the arranged tribeman to sort?

@@tasosd2952 yes but it’s extremely tedious to setup. For each item you have to set a withdraw item and store item from the dump to the proper chest. The end chest should be named for easier identification. Like I said, tedious but once setup it kind of takes care of itself. I’m reworking my setup now so my carpenter takes care of wood items, etc.

Are the fiber too much and too little of use or they expect you to make that much bandage 😅?

Fiber is used to make of the non carnivore feeds also for yeast. You get it as a byproduct of crop harvesting.
