Essential Tips for Soulmask

A fun bonus tip with the llama extended saddle, a non-starting host body, and a follower - You can make your follower carry deterred tribals. Body hop to them, pick up someone, then hop back to the body you were using (It cannot be your starting body.) They will continue following while carrying the deterred tribal! This lets you effectively carry x3 deterred tribals back home with you. One on you, one on your follower, and one on a llama. Helps for doing a mass tribe expansion.

The new portal allows follower & mount to cross and no more load restriction. This made the game so much easier as I just setup a portal at mines, fortress, dungeons. No more endless supply runs

Use a portal for your tribesman transport. From your original character respawn, spawn inside one of your new tribesman. Take the portal home, reinit your original body on the bonfire and transfer to it. Repeat until you have them all moved back.

enemies can bring your deterred recruiits to an altar at a barracks as well. they put them on the sacrifice table next to the tribal leader/chieftan. great video

Why does no one mention that you can build your own portal system. Your portals only cost 100 energy to use instead of the 250 for the in-game portals.

apparently you can control someone, pick up a captive. take control of your person again. pick up another. and have more than 1 captive being hauled to your base

Thanks for the info, very useful. A couple of follow up questions: (1) if you deter followers inside the barbarian barracks on their beds say 1 - 2 km away from your closest bonfire, will they return on their own? (2) my bonfire is on top of a mountain but the base spans entire mountain starting at the ground level, not just stairs but lots of foundations and floors too, do you think they will still spawn at the bonfire on the top when Im invaded? My tribesmen seems to find the path just fine when they have to come down to cut trees or gather resources. Thanks again.

The follower will not return on their own. you need to move them there yourself, you can have them follow you. As for the invasion, it's kind of anyone's guess at this point. There is lots still to test with it and without building there an trying it I don't know what to tell you.

My pillar base is on top of a mountain where you just can reach climbing and invaders spawn on 500 meters away down and they got stuck not being able to reach the base. It is not a flat area by the way

Just a thought: Once you've beat the Ape boss, you can build your own portals so I don't find building my bases near to the ones on the map relevant anymore.

If you’re playing on a private server or solo game you can use the personal portal with resources and mounts. If you’re on official you cannot teleport with resources or followers. They are not the same as the portal that are on the map.

i know if effects weight of alpacs. and for jags if u have a lendary one. its black and a lot bigger then the other jags

The qualities matter on mounts. The better the quality the higher the stats are for them. So keep chasing the Legendary versions of the mounts for the best stats.

I do most of this stuff solo. I also try it with friends. But if I had to say some tips for solo. Over level and over gear chase legendary crafts. Play as a good tribesman, test your timing on big adventures like bosses with your main character first so if you die you have not lost anything. Then when you feel like you have the timing down take a tribesman to the fight.

They are different and also stack. I have concealment + sound + mask mods that buff both concealment and sound. Now I stand near wild mobs they hear me but cant see me, nearly invisible. But that does not work as good as with barb enemies or bosses.

No real good way to "move" best to start fresh and bring the most important things over.

Not until you unlock personal portals, but even then its just better to start fresh or setup mini portal houses and keep your OG base. If you want to move before you unlock portals you can setup patrol routes from the OG base all the way to your new base. Thos technique is used to send your tribe to the new base while holding the bulk of your items. It takes pretty long for them to travel there via patrol routes and its arguably faster just to load up a mount and tribesman and make a few trips. Like Wak said in this video, always build close to a portal to save a lot of headaches

Not sure if this is the right place to talk about it, but since you touched upon it a little, maybe possible for you to also make some tests -> why is no-one talking about defenses? are they only meant for PVP? do they do nothing in a PVE when there are invaders? not a single guide on how to set up defenses with spikes etc. but maybe that is because they are useless(?)

Combat has alot more in and outs than ppl think. If ur having a hard time and have all the food buffs, try to fight things alone with a basic weapon u like to get better at combat. I can stab an elite jag in the face and stun it. Works on saber tooth as well.

Where can we suggest changes to recipes? It's absurd that the Stone Powder fertilizer has to be made with acidic fluid. It's unncessary and it's the only fertilizer that cant be crafted directly from powder and feces.

This game seems good but it isn't. If you really play normally you waste so much time losing tribe members and time. Reviewers like this area use admin commands to spawn in all this stuff to test. What you see this guy have here would take many months to achieve. By then you stop caring. In the end this game is just another walk around, kill collect to kill higher level stuff and go to higher level areas. You are all dressed up with no where to go. The maps are all set up with choke points with gotcha mobs and gear check mobs. You get inside the temples and it is only traps and stupid Pyramid robots that look so so stupid.

You should do some research before talking garbage. Sure I have admin for testing, but everything I show in the guides is from actually doing it. I’m not ashamed to say I play on a boosted server and I have been very vocal about the fact that I think the game is too grindy. It’s also early access and has plenty of room for growth and active devs. To your point about end game you’re not totally wrong, but name a game that does it well where you’re not still trash hoping to find food and you’re not bored just looping for the best drops. I have over 700 hours in Soulmask I knew where to go and what to do to maximize my time before the game launched to early access, that’s why I have all that stuff.

This game is so much a conan clone down to the random usless items you need to craft everything. I love the grind dw (10k hrs on Ark) but its ao cringe having to get 98 different things to make a single item 🫠🫠🫠 i hope these devs do a better job than conans with the direction they go with the game
