Thank you for actually making a video where the person talks about what they are supposed to be doing ! it' makes such a difference to watch a video where who ever is speaking doesn't rattle on about how long they have been a woodworker etc etc. Well done i watched this and have done exactly the same to my bandsaw which now works perfectly Keep up the good work :)

What a GREAT setup tutorial for a band saw. My band saw has given me so many problems that I feel like it is a worthless tool. You have given me hope that it will be a very useful tool. I need to work through all of the adjustments you suggest. I'll reply later how it works after all of the adjustments. Thanks for the video!!!

Thank you, the key along with the good set up is a good quality blade. I've spent ages fettling with set up but it would never perform the way I wanted to until I got decent blades in it. It makes all the difference. The blades that came with the saw were too thin and flimsy comparing too good quality blades. You'll get better and quicker with the set up each time you do it. Once you get there you'll find that properly tuned bandsaw is very versatile and useful tool. Makes less waste, mess, noise and uses less power.

Excellent video! Absolutely exactly what I needed and I’m sure for the other 8K viewers too. It sounds like you have a Dutch accent, true?

@@pscraftydiy I have a problem with my Scheppach bandsaw, the blade is running very close to the front edge of the lower wheel and i cannot adjust it to the centre. The to wheel can be adjusted to the centre but the bottom wheel not, and the cut is pulling to the right on 6mm MDF. Its like the whole motor assembly and shaft is titled upwards. I was going to try adding two washers on the motor side of the lower two motor bolts to try and tilt the motor upwards and the wheel end of the shaft downwards a bit.

@@stephenyoud6125Did you try run a proper blade in this or are you using the one that came with the saw as they are rubbish. Lot of problems people having are down to poor quality blade. The bottom wheel is not directly driven by the motor. Its driven by a drive belt and a pulley fitted on the motor so if the motor shaft would be out of the line like you suggesting it would be the drive belt slipping off not your blade. The bottom wheel centre can be adjusted by 4 screws at the back of the saw near its shaft. I am not sure if these only shift the wheel centre left/right and up/down or if you able to adjust the shaft alignment on these as well, meaning to tilt the shaft. I'd be very careful about this adjustment done on these 4 bolts as these should be set in factory and you should never have to touch those. I'd try to get in touch with Scheppach and ask them for advice or if there is any procedure they could have for you to follow to get the wheels coaligned. If your saw is new I'd try to return it as faulty as the flat backing could be bowed or bent, they should give you a new one or your money back.

@@Secbra1 Mine us a different model: BASA1 and definitely seems to be direct drive from the motor armature to the bottom wheel. the 4 bolts seem to hold the motor on directly and dont offer any tilkt adjustment as that I think is what is needed: to tilt the bottom edge of the bottom wheel down. And yes I'm using the blade that came on the machine. No matter what I do I cannot shift the blade from run right on the front edge of the lower wheel. I think this is what is causing the cut to pull to the right as the excesive forward tilt of the blade by running so close to the front edge of the lower wheel (the teeth are actually overhanging the edge) is causing the blade to twist and this is steering the cut to the right. I wrote to Scheppach but they only sent an auito generated reply saying they are busy and will get to me later. I tried adjusting the blade guide rollers but had to file quite a bit on the lower outside guard, below the table to get it to fit past the thrust bearing behind the blade. Looks like a Friday afternoon machine

@@stephenyoud6125Alright I see. In that case tilting the motor with washers/shims makes sence. I'd really try to run a proper blade in it firs and see if that gets you anywhere. I had lot of trouble with getting mine cutting straight, tried absolutely everything and it was still running off. I was convinced there is something wrong with the saw as Ive tried both blades supplied with the machine one was running off to the right and the other to the left. That's when I realised and ordered different blade from reputable manufacturer and it was like night and day.

I really like your videos, very useful. Are you able to make a video how to adjust and sharp chain on chain saw? And I would like to recommend you Tormek company. I have had Tormek T8, Very useful equipment for people who is interested in wood "business".

Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately I do not own a chainsaw and have never attempted to sharpen it. I had a look into Tormek T8 in tha past. Although it seems to be a great machine for sharpening I have quickly dismissed it due to its price tag which I cannot justify as a weekend warrior.

I am sorry to hear that. What blade are you using? If the one that came with the saw, You'll never get that cutting straight, I couldn't either. Buy a good blade and it should cure. Also see if the blade is not oscilating side to side. Some people had a problem with that, if thats the case there is not much you can do but take the saw back. Hope that helps
