The manual sucks! It shows how to connect the claw on one page in a tiny corner, then, on the next to last page, they show just a tiny piece of it in storage. After searching the manual several times, I finally, just now, found the instructions on the claw. Before, I didn't know it existed in the manual. This really was a very useful video.

I think maybe you were a shop teacher at some point. Great video. I have watched several set up videos for this saw but yours was the by far the easiest to understand and the clear (repeated) instructions were great. Thank you. I just found one of these online (NEW) for 95 bucks. I know. That sounds fishy but there were actually two online shops selling this saw at that price. I sent them an email asking them how they could sell this saw for 95 bucks when Lowes and everyone else were selling it for 4 times that amount. We shall see. Thanks again.
@MrYoucandoityourself4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dwayne, thanks for your comment. $95 it's not a real price, I sold my used saw for $250 easy a few times. Be careful, it may be fishing!
@dwayneford19904 жыл бұрын
@@MrYoucandoityourself I did a little more checking and I'm sure you are right. It was a T-shirt company I think. $95 bucks for dewalt T-shirt? That's as crazy a price as it was for the saw. Anyway, thanks for getting back to me. I subscribed. Cheers.

Thanks for the video. I'd like to add a couple suggestions. I just setup the Dewalt DWE7480. (Disclaimer) Do not have the table saw plugged into an outlet when setting up the unit. To make it easier to install the kickback & blade guard, raise the saw blade, unlock & lift up to remove yellow blade guard that surrounds the saw blade. There you'll see the riving knife adjuster knob with a yellow arrow. You have to loosen the knob 5 or more turns before you can push the knob in that releases the pin that holds the riving knife in place. Once it's released, raise the riving knife up one level. Once the knife pops into place, tighten the knob. The riving knife should be as high or higher than the saw blade as the pic shows in the poorly written manual. Then re-install the yellow saw blade guard & lock it. Now the kickback & blade guard will attach much easier. When you lower the saw blade, the teeth of the kickback won't dig into the gray flat surface like at the 2:36 mark of this video.

I’m late here. But seeing this fantastic video I now realized how much corners DeWalt has had to cut! From the nice and secure styrofoam packaging, to the metal blade guard assembly. The newer models comes from DeWalt with crappy cardboard inserts instead of styrofoam, many scratches on my brand new 7491 table and a huge dent on the rip fence! What a shame we can’t have this nice thing anymore from the same company
