Well, instead of asking you somehing else I'd actually like to help :) I think I've found a little error in the JSON file you've sent me - as part of the tutorial - the 7th of May. Row 567 has got the following line: "value": "productId". This seems to me an error since the Data Layer variable is actually productID (note the last "D" which must be uppercase). If you haven't changed that JSON please do it since it actually seems to break all the data in the standard Ecommerce purchases report of GA4. Hope this helps!

Do you support shopify headless tracking. We are having an issue with revenue all going to "direct/none" and nothing for our marketing channels.

Normal - becase with headless you only control the checkout steps through Shopify. You need to add the same GTM tags into your headless front end as well. I'm not sure it'd directly work though - it's relatively a complex setup. Have you tried my latest Pixels video?

Thanks for a great working script. I had a few issues getting total_value to show in GA4. There were first some issues with thousand separator and commas and then some tweaks in the conversion script. But it work out in the end. Depending on currency and currency settings in both GA4 and Shopify this could be different from shop to shop.

Looks to me there is small modification required in the code i.e. it should be total_price=total_price.replace(",", ""); Currently it has been implemented as total_price = total_price.replace(",", "."); Then the output would be 1790.00; and if we need to change this to number from string: total_value=+total_price.

Why can't we track Shopify sales in GA4? Hello Erman, First, i want to thank you for your great tutorials. Your help was truly massive! I have some questions though: 1. I started out by watching your video series which was posted 1 year ago. I followed every step until the data layers part. After that i watched this video which is more recent. All the steps were the same as the older video series, however, in the old series you created some tags and triggers (UA and GA4 Global Tags, UA Purchase Event Trigger), but in this new video you didnt, and instead you asked us to import the container. I have already created the tags that you created in the older video series. Now my question is, will this container interfere with the tags i already made? I know you mentioned in your new video that we should pause any other GA4 tags, but cant i keep the ones i made by following your steps from the older videos as well as import the container? Because i noticed that in your old video you have UA tags but in the container you dont, isnt it better to have both UA and GA4 tags? 2. You mentioned that the data layers we add should always be the most updated version. So what would happen if you update your code but im unaware of this change, will i be notified? and if not, will all my tracking stop working if i dont update? Looking forward to your reply! :)

We get no data sent to GA4 on purchase, and when debugging we see an error in tag assistant that says a script cannot be inside a div. Went through the video and double-checked all settings. Seems to be casued by GTM on in the checkout additional scripts. Any ideas?

Hi there! Quick question. If I install the GA4 Shopify kit, does that mean I will not be able to use ANY GA4 tags in the future? I just don't want future tags to cause interference with your kit and vice versa. Please help!🙏

Hi, Great setup. I experience problems with tracking eventough i have followed the guides from you step by step. Could there be a mismatch between US x EU (Denmark), maybe something with currency? :-) I experince missing alot conversionvalue in GA4 compared to backend/UA

Hello, this setup actually supports multi-currency. You can test a purchase using GTM's Debug mode and see the revenue data being pushed to GA4. This way, you can see the data being passed - and detect the problem. We have clearly tested it, though, and it should work. Alternatively, you can consider purchasing Analyzify, and our expert team can handle your setup. Of course, you'll get many other events/tags along with GA4 Purchase event.

Pro tips for the non developers who might be following along, 08:50 if you chose to name your snippet a different name and make sure the name at 09:36 corresponds to the function that call the snippet: example if you named your snippet "foo-bar", your call will look something like this {% render 'foo-bar.liquid' %}

Why does your data layer script have a line code called 'event': 'analyzify_purchase', Why do you want us to call it this way?

We needed a unique event name - and we called the event that way because this is a code block that is taken from Analyzify. It makes so much sense to name it uniquely. And also! We love our business & brand we wanted to put it somewhere in the code as a little signature. It doesn’t have any hidden intention. You can change it however you like - just make sure to change the event trigger name in GTM Container as well.

Hello, Adem! Glad you found it useful! The data layers are open and customizable - you can add the variables in the format we have done. It should be quite easy to add the discount code but not sure about the Cart page. You might need to hire a professional or consider purchasing Analyzify or another app if you want the full implementation. All the best!
