In order to be able to sign users in the OOBE with their company email address or in your case the "setupmem" domain, the device needs to be running Windows Pro correct? And if half of my computer devices are running Windows Home editions, does this mean I need to upgrade them all to Pro in order to have Intune recognize them as Company-Owned Devices? I know I can still enroll Azure Active Directory Registered devices to Intune and then change the ownership from Personal to Corporate, however this adds a lot of clicks and eliminates the end-user from essentially being able to sign in OOBE and "go". Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Trying to migrate all devices from no MDM to Intune MDM and most of the devices are running on Windows Home currently.

That's correct you need to be on Pro or a higher SKU

@@PatchMyPC Do you know if there's an easy way to check my devices on AAD for Home/Pro with powershell or cmd lines? Or any way for that matter, besides going to each device and looking up device specs on them? Again, I appreciate your response! I'm learning a lot in my new role trying to do this with no experience. (They aren't enrolled with any MDM solution right now as they are all AAD registered and Intune would label them as Personal devices until I can upgrade them to Pro.)

How would this work if you have an on prem AD? Can you still join it to the domain and still enroll in to intune?

You can still enroll it to Intune in this scenario

Use autopilot with deployment profiles. In there you set users to be standard not admins.

Intune is such a ghostly defined thing, and not clearly documented. What you refer to as Intune here is some Intune, some MS endpoint manager. Endpoint manager is an admin interface on top of Intune and/or sccm (system center configuration manager). Or am I still missing something?!?

Great question, it's hard to really know what the marketing terms may be. For this guide, it's purely focused on the Cloud part of Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
