Splitter is awesome 🎉🎉 but I wish it could get more love and be updated more regularly with cool updates (such as oversampling signals for old plugins etc)

I support what you said. Additionally, the frequency mode changes the sound when using more than a 2-band split. I think we need a Splitter with HQ or Linear Phase to maintain the phase and retain sound quality.

Thank you for all the wonderful videos you have made for years. You are the reason i started recording and the reason I chose Studio One years ago. If only the experts who always leave negative comments had videos to watch. And I wonder if they are so busy doing things better then how do they have time to watch your videos and leave negative comments? Just wondering...

Thanks Joe. Interesting way to do this. I’ll try to do this in the next session. 😊

The question is, is it possible to do a volume automation to the parallel in this way?

Gregor did a similar video a few weeks ago. I'll get flamed again, but I stand by my comment. To each his/her own, and it's always great to have more ways than one to do something. But for me the splitter as a tool for parallel compression is worse than the traditional way, with a bus, because you have to have one window more open and it's less easy to manipulate the faders than on a bus, especially with daw controllers. Perhaps the brilliant S1 developers could improve the splitter's integration in the console view, but I'm sure they have gazillions other priorities.

Cool Joe. Love the stank face when you get the right sound with parallel compression - says it all 😆

We now want to translate the videos you upload into other languages using the KZbin dubbing feature. For example, Turkish.

My question is, should I add the parallel compression last of the other plugins, in the middle, first? ( Laughed with your comment at 02:54😂)

That's subjective to your opinion! I would encourage you to try each out, and use your ears to determine which you like best!

Wow After I set up a template that included parallel compression routing I find this. I normally use the splitter for instruments to create unique sounds 🤦🏾♂️👍🏾

While it's good to have options, to me, it's an inferior way to do parallel compression for a drum bus. First of all, this way I can't control how much or little of every drum element I send. Sometimes I need or want to emphasize or de-emphasize certain channels going into the compressor and that's just not possible like this. Secondly, with the splitter you don't get a nice fader to wiggle around and automate. Don't get me wrong, splitter is great and has its uses, but the drum bus isn't one for me. Good old sending to bus is the better option in my opinion.

is this only used after recording session in the post mix? can this be on inputs before the red recording button is engaged?

This can be on your insert when tracking.

...so if the fat channel and pro Eq were not on the channel, I would not be seeing it in the splitter window. If the Pro Eq came after the splitter, would I see that in the splitter window?

kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHTNZHtji5arjKs I am trying to record but every time I play a new track it records what I recorded in the previous track also if I want to use it in metronome it records the click can someone help me with this problem
@drefue8 ай бұрын
This is not an efficient means to parallel compressing anything. Only serves to limit your options. Set up a bus, route your tracks and send as required. Doesn’t take any more time and gives you all the flexibility necessary for optimizing the tracks in question. C’mon, fellas, this is as gimmicky as it gets.
@damirvukelic80878 ай бұрын
That's true. Though, after seeing so many videos on this type of processing, I never ever encountered anyone changing the send levels for the parallel bus. Most people simply crush the parallel drum bus and add the whole thing to taste. The only exception to this that I came across was not sending OHs and Rooms to the parallel bus at all.
