Thanks for this! The delay is actually much better than I expected and it’s good to see the two remote sources are synced, or at least very close. I’d love to know if the sync of those two remote sources would drift apart apart after an hour or 2 or 3…. Great video!

Hey great video thanks i wonder if you know if talkback also gets sent back and forth when your sending the Studio cam feed to the ATEM via your phones Internet ? I know camera control and Tally works but Talkback would be great to confirm

You mentioned the ATEM has tally, does it also have return audio for USB AND Intercom? If so, that would be a gamechanger.

Hi and thanks for a great walk through! I wonder... is it possible to feed i.e. three cameras into the web presenter and control those from your switcher in the other end? Or could anything be done with the streaming bridge to manage that? Of course I could buy three BMD Micro Cams, feed the xml into it, connect them to a mobile router and then I guess I could have all three feeds send to my switcher in the other location, right? Since it's only BMD product which can be send it's not possible to set up a PTZ cam and control it from another location (from my advanced panel i.e.), right? Thanks :D Mark.

Thanks! I wouldn't count on the delay being exactly the same, but it will probably be close as long as the internet connections everywhere are solid.

Great vid. If possible it would be great to see if you could stream from other devices such as a LiveU or Yolobox to the switcher using the RTMP in the xlm file generated.

Thanks! Unfortunately that isn't possible. Like the Streaming Bridge, they've locked it down to only accept streams from other Blackmagic products.

There is the Raspberry Pi streaming bridge that might work. I recall correctly Aaron built one.

Great video Aaron! I have been looking at different remote options with the BMD setup / HD8. Was the delay from camera about 10sec or so since it's using RTMP? I wish BMD would support SRT as an option to move closer to real time. Also, I wonder if ATEM Mini Pro or higher could accomplish similar to feed from Studio cameras back to remote operator. I suspect it won'.

The delay seems to vary between 1-5 seconds, it isn't consistent. Sometimes when I turn it on it's only 1s delay, other times it will be higher. I have never seen 10 seconds tho.

@@aaronpk - Awesome. That isn’t bad and know RTMP or RTSP are options. I keep hoping they also look at a multiview send back or create a cloud option, my wishful thinking. I have a production in Alabama full BMD setup. Your video generated some great ideas and for others.

Can you help, is the TV version same as Streaming bridge version? in case of the worldwide visibility? I done all that, all tutorial i can get to.. but always get port forwarding error. Is there something i need to do?

Can this feature be used at remote broadcast locations via phone cellular data or does it have to be on the same local network?

You can definitely do this over the internet! Just make sure you have enough bandwidth for it. Also there are some versions of this (like the Web Presenter) that recently got a firmware update to support SRT, which should be a lot more reliable on the internet compared to RTMP.

Can anyone confirm whether or not it's just the ISO version that can do this? I have a 4k8, but no 'Add remote camera' option. Seems strange they would only add this to one of the three in the lineup, but most of the documentation I've seen mentions only the ISO.

No, only the ISO version has this feature and they haven't put out a 4K ISO version yet

I have a ATEM TV 4k8 and the Remote Source Setup doesnt show up on my mine. Anyone know why? I have updated the software, everything is connected over landline and still no go.

I’d love to do this setup with more than 8 inputs. Can this be done with the 2 M/E Constellation or 4 M/E ?? I’d be using the Web Presenter method. Great video looking forward to your feedback thanks

I'm very curious what you're doing that needs more than 8! So the special thing about the TV Studio HD8 ISO is that the thing that receives the stream is built in. They make a separate box called the Streaming Bridge which can receive a stream from a Web Presenter and outputs it over SDI. So you can absolutely buy as many of those as you want and connect them to a 2M/E!

@@aaronpk hi Aaron thanks for the reply. I’m working with a non profit client who is hosting a nationwide event in multiple locations. So the overall plan is to have quality remote feeds setup in 10-15 of these locations. Have them all come into a switcher at the non profits main headquarters where they have their own studio (to which I manage for them). We normally host a weekly/monthly web show and I utilize a 2 M/E setup. The overall goal would have a IP SRT PTZ camera going through a Poe switch then I guess through a web presenter. Have it come into the studio at the HQ and into the 2 M/E. I’d love to be able to control the movement of the PTZ camera from the HQ too if able. Thanks again for the help. Do you have a link to the streaming bridge? I don’t see it on their website.

@@leproductionsny Cool! That sounds like a super fun event! For the PTZ control you'll have to rig that up yourself, the ATEM and Streaming Bridge won't help you with that. It does look like the Streaming Bridge is gone from the Blackmagic website, I wonder if that means they are working on a v2 of it now. It's still for sale at places online though: geni.us/atem-streaming-bridge

@@aaronpk I’ll work on the control stuff. Let me see if the workflow is correct here. Camera into switch, web presenter into switch, venue internet into switch. Done. Then on the HQ side for every inbound camera feed I’d attach a streaming bridge to a switch in studio and run SDI from the bridge to the 2 M/E?? Is that correct ?

The only thing I'd add is that it can make things easier to manage if you bring your own router to venues so that you can control the IP addresses of all the devices in your kits. Otherwise you're at the mercy of the venue internet to assign addresses to each device, and you might not be able to plan ahead for them. Also it turns out the Streaming Bridge is listed on the ATEM Mini page on the blackmagic website, but not the ATEM page or the Streaming page www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/atemmini 😅
