@@Radarssbm The explanation is really simple for people to get an idea of why: when playing on a window, your graphics card is busy rendering every different window you see on the screen, all of them with different objects inside them. But on fullscreen, nothing but the main view gets rendered, so there's not much for the graphics card to be busy about, other than the main window. Also something people may not be aware of is that playing on a multi-screen setup is essentially playing on windowed mode, but the lag is increased exponentially, because you're adding an entire different screen for the GPU to render besides your main one.

If it's really just because your GPU is doing other processing, this is a non-issue for people with decent GPUs. I doubt my 1080 will have any trouble handling windowed mode. Seems smooth to me..

Just leaving a performance tip here: " Task manager -> set priority -> Realtime / High " from the previous video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnvLnIKupZaImaM - This really helps when you have browsers and discord still open with multi-monitors IMO. Also note that the priority can reset if you click around too much and dolphin loses focus or you alt-tab / alt-enter, which haunted me for months until I realized what that was happening and causing me to drop frames.

Personally I tested and 100% I drop frames without High priority (you can test with "show lag counter"). Realtime might be a bad idea since Nikki said it may stop input polling, but I haven't seen any evidence of that.

If you are using windows open the file with notepad then go to File, Save As, from the Save as type drop down menu choose All Files and name it user.json. Just in case check that the encoding is UTF-8

Unless you can store a list of friends you previously connected to, I think copy and pasting their code is actually way more convenient than typing a 7 digit code into melee's keyboard every time you play streamers too will have to hide the whole screen if they want to hide their friends' codes

having other's codes won't really be a risk because it still requires two people to connect to each other. You only need to do it once for the record, at least once person session. It's not every time you play a game.

I'm stuck at the log in section when I load melee, I follow the instructions on slippi to save the link but it doesn't log in after I save the user.json link.... It's the final step I have to make so this is quite frustating. Edit: the problem was that the link slippi generated didn't point me towards dolphin.exe so I had to fill the gap. If the URL slippi generates doesn't doesn't match your Dolphins location video simply type what's missing manually. My theory is that if you have multiple versions of dolphin installed in the same folder tree, Slippi gets confused and generates an incomplete link.

@@malonee Make sure it's the right ISO with the right MD5 checksum. You should be able to calculate it by right-clicking it in Dolphin, going into properties and info, then click compute MD5. It should start with 0e63.

If you want your own Melee ISO you will need -A Homebrewed Wii -Copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee -CleanRip Homebrew Application -Wii Compatible Storage Device (SD Card/USB) Put your Melee disk into your Wii and load up CleanRip on your Homebrew Channel. Choose Yes/A when prompted. Choose what storage device you want to put the ISO onto. Once finished, you can close the application and turn off your Wii. The ISO should be on your selected storage device, and using it on Slippi/Dolphin should be easy as plugging in your storage device and moving it to where it needs to be.

I had that issue. Open Dolphin. Go to "tools">Memory card manager> From there you choose the "memory card" option. I have my memory card as the "slippi folder"

The adapter for the switch is the same as the Wii U adapter as far as I'm aware. As for gamecube controllers, as long it's an official controller (not madcatz etc) it will work fine!

Melee can run on pretty attainable hardware, I used an old laptop that has an i3 3110m (The iGPU is an Intel HD 4000) with 8 GB of RAM on the Direct3D 9 renderer (Please note that for testing I just played Pokemon stadium on training mode so results may vary), this laptop runs Melee at 60 FPS in game at 720p (4:3), if you want to run the game in 16:9 I would recommend putting the res down to 960x792 as 720p goes below 60fps too much. If worse comes to worse just go down to 640x528, and one final thing, the fountain of dreams map just doesn't want to render.

Make sure you have the correct ISO. You can check by following the troubleshooting section at the end of this video by doi an MD5 checksum

Something that should be noted is that you’ll want to do the slippi registration and code copy/save as with google chrome. Unfortunately while setting up my brothers laptop I got stuck here until I realized he was using Microsoft edge. Moving to Chrome instantly fixed this issue.

Caseshom Gaming yeah you need a specific one. Check the troubleshooting section at the end of the video and go to the section related to ISO’s. Make sure your ISO matches that code and if not you need to find one that does.

Regarding the Melee ISO, and doing it "fully legally": if you have the OG disc, you can use a modded wii (which is totally legal to do!) and RIP your melee disc into an ISO. Just do a quick google search on how to do it, and you won't be worried about going into shady links, or doing legally questionable things.

No it shouldn't. You are just changing how the PC reads it, nothing on the adaptor itself. I've done it with official one and no issues.

This is exactly what you're looking for: Adapter Kext Installation If you have a official Nintendo adapter, or a Mayflash adapter, follow the below steps exactly for Gamecube controller support under macOS. When entering terminal commands, pay attention to the output: if it says no such file, failure, or anything of the sorts, start from step 1. Third party offbrand adapters may or may not work. Step 1: - Boot your Mac into recovery mode by restarting and holding CMD + R until the Apple logo appears. - Open a terminal (Utilities in menu bar -> Terminal) - Run csrutil disable. Don't worry - you'll re-enable this in a bit. It is required for loading the kernel extension for the adapter. - Reboot into normal macOS. Step 2: - Open a terminal. (This can be found in Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal). - Run: curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf raw.githubusercontent.com/project-slippi/Ishiiruka/slippi/Data/install_smashenabler.sh | sh - Follow the prompts. No, the driver tells your computer how to read the adapter. It does nothing to your adapter.

PSA for people with weak computers: If you're on internal res Native 1x and you're still lagging, what you wanna do is lower your fullscreen resolution to 320x200. If you can't run this, I don't think you can do anything else. If you can, try climbing to higher resolutions until you find the highest one that you can run reliably. I use 640x480 and it works great on my laptop :D

Make sure you're saving it as a JSON file and not HTML or something else! That's the first thing to check imo
