No problems, there seems to be some hard core Rotax DD2 fans out there, thats awesome
@dennismadsen80844 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. Use a razorblade or Stanley knife next time cutting the outer sheet. Then you get around the problem with the inner bring squeezed.

I use a Dremel to cut the cable housing. Very little to clean up, the housing shape is not crushed so the cable slides better.
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
Nitemare115 thanks for the tip. On the dremel do you use a cut off wheel?
@Nitemare1154 жыл бұрын
Power Republic Yes and light pressure, let the disk have time to cut thru. It will slightly melt the housing so a steady hand helps. The cable cleans up easy and the cable slides like butter. Thanks for the help on the hub pics BTW.

Great video as with all the others, I’ve watched every single one. I just got a new dd2 which is amazing however it pops out of 2nd gear into neutral sometimes but not all the time. If I hold pressure on the paddle it’s fine though. Is this the cables have too much tension on or too little? Thanks Sam
@PowerRepublic Жыл бұрын
Hey Sam. Maybe your gear drive dogs are worn and it’s not the cable. Try cables first, then if not it’s the gears ⚙️
@samrichardson3128 Жыл бұрын
@@PowerRepublic thanks, do you mean the primary and secondary gears?
@PowerRepublic Жыл бұрын
yeah most likely the 2 main gears inside the gearbox. I will link the parts here ......@@samrichardson3128

Hi, and many thanks for pretty much reassembling my dd2. I have an issue with this - with this config, when i turn the steering to the extreme of either side, the gear cable hits the nassau panel brackets on the way - should it not be cleared on either side turning all the way to the extreme?
@06labr4 жыл бұрын
I have an FA Kart from 2015 if that helps, but the setup is the same as the OTK you are working on
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
@@06labr hey mate, I have seen them before failing on the brackets, but it didn't effect the karts performance in the wild. Maybe you could shorten up the distance from the black ring on the steering shaft to the red steering bush. This will make the cable shorter and less likely to hit on the Nassau panel brackets.

How much is a fully new junior Rotax kart and which one would you prefer me to do X30 or Rotax and please tell me what is the difference
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
Junior Rotax or X30. pick the class that has the best/most competition in your local area. no point rocking up with Jmax and everyone else is racing in Junior X30. Brand new in AUD is approx $10500 or $11300 including a Mychron 5

Great video mate, i have a problem with the shift contact screw, that black plastic part broke last week and i changed it and it broke again yesterday!! I don’t know the actual reason for that, what may cause this problem? And thanks again for you wonderful videos
@PowerRepublic3 жыл бұрын
maybe the spring or the stopper is Broken and when you are pulling the cables you are getting too much pressure on the bracket?
@jwesselvan5 ай бұрын
Hope i can ask a question about shifting with a dd2 evo2 . I bought a praga dd2 and there are multiple opinions about shifting one side says lift when you shift up the other side says you dont need to lift you can keep the pedal down because of the electronic cut off thats also what the manual says but still im doubting myself now what's best.
@Timshouse19793 жыл бұрын
Hey mate great video I have just got a dd2 and when it gets to full speed and I button off the gas it goes to neutral and revs up still is this because I need to adjust that screw at the back? It shifts fine but when I let it off the gas at top speed it does it every time. Thanks!
@PowerRepublic3 жыл бұрын
Hey Tim, I would say that the gears drive dogs might be worn out and that is why it is slipping out of gear. not cause of the shift cut.
@daneschwarz719 Жыл бұрын
I have an issue with my shifters currently I’m looking for help with. It’s very difficult to shift, even to the point I’m bending the paddles. Is that likely a cable issue or a motor issue?

Hey I got A quick question About the DD2. Last weekend i was riding my DD2 after it had A complete rebuild. First two sessions were perfect but after the third session the engine starter to stutter in second gear on the straights. After three sturtters there was A pop and bang from the exaust and then it went full power. Changed the spark plug for A brand new one and went down to A carb. Jet number 135 but the problem only was getting worse. The strange thing is that in first gear there are no problems at all, doesn’t matter at wich rpm. As soon as I hit second gear, engine begins to stutter. Do you Guys have any good ideas? You hero’s helped me out before so was hoping for this time as well. Keep up the good video’s! I know that A lot of racers from Holland are watching you!
@PowerRepublic3 жыл бұрын
Hey T, thanks for tuning in and Hey to all your Bro's in Holland. Does that include Maxi ;)???? -double check the shift cut wire hasn't gotten too close to the engine and when you hit second gear it is shorting out. - Make sure your earth leads and wiring connection are all sweet.
@PowerRepublic3 жыл бұрын
lastly check the crank angle sensor. maybe add a spacer gasket as that can sort out electrical issues sometimes
@thohou3 жыл бұрын
Of course that includes Maxi! :)! Thanks A lot! I Will go and check these things and hope it Will work! Keep up the good videos!!

Hello, I have a problem and I have to solve it as soon as possible, I changed my cables 1 week ago and when I got back on the track I made the wrong gear and the second gear is too hard, I have to maintain it so I can change gear, what's the problem? please tell me, honestly thank you

Never heard a sharpie and or marker called a "textile." - I swear it has something to do with their toilets flushing in the wrong direction.. lol :)

classic! It's a 'Texta' and i think it was a brand of coloured marking pen back in the day, similar to a sharpie in the States. so funny!

hey Johnny, as in a full electric kart? one you would try at a hire kart place?
