We found out My Hubby New TV wasnt a Smart tv months later. So we needed something that would work with a Not Smart TV. Thanks it worked. 💚 At 1st it didnt work. You need to Turn the TV off 1st. Then hook up the Ruku Stick. Then turn the TV back on then the Ruku Stick can communicate with the TV. And the Ruku info comes up. At 1st I was trying to connect the Ruku stick with the TV being on. It wouldn't work that way. Yay it work! Thanks so much for the Step by Step Guide. Quick and easy.

Be careful when setting up Roku. Do not add any channels as they will more likely end up charging you. I added channels that I thought were free, and ended up having to pay for more than I could afford in a lifetime! Now I have to starve at work. Just be careful! My suggestion is that you do not add anything while setting up Roku and then add channels later as you are more familiarized with the channels and know they are really free. To be safe, just remove your credit card from the account so they can not charge you without your knowing. Only add your credit card at the time of purchase, and then remove it from the account when the purchase is done. Follow these points and you can keep your lunch money.

Pretty sure you were either scammed by an outfit having no affiliation with Roku, or you agreed to services that are pretty clearly marked when downloading apps/channels instead of closely examining what you added to your Roku. It's not at all likely that a channel will charge you when downloaded. You'd have to agree to a particular service. Take HBO Go for example. You can open the channel, but to view any of the shows or movies, you very clearly have to agree to a paid service.

So far only Prime and Disney have Dolby digital plus...no Atmos at all. Google play is only Dolby d. Anyone know why, my receiver is a onkyo Atmos enabled btw.

Now I’ve got the Let’s get started screen, and after the remote pairs, it acts like it’s not paired. God damn, I knew I should’ve waited and saved for Apple TV. This is absolute trash. I finally have it set up, I give my email for the activation, I click the link, and there’s an “unexpected problem.” Seriously, it’s 2021 and you put a beta product on store shelves. Not beta like trump and Ted cruz, but as in, this should be an alpha release.

Are you using the USB to power the roku?? If so, try with included wall outlet. Your USB may no be supplying enough to power the roku.

I agree. I had Roku for years. But this Roku stick + was nonsense. I did fix it, finally. This time instead of picking HOME I picked Hotel or Dorm. Then it stopped freezing and updated then I had to do some other things I online. Its nonsense, I'm not in a dorm or a hotel. I see online this is happening to a lot of folks.

Raquel Torres: The numbered remote was the one that came with the TV and it's used to change the source input (HDMI in this case, though with more than one HDMI on one's TV it could be HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 and so forth). Once the correct source is fixed you can use the ROKU remote to control what is on the screen.
