Thanks, Tony! It really is a great tool and I'm happy I spent the time fully configuring it. Hope you have a good rest of the weekend!

Great Tutorial!! I'd decided on Uptime Kuma a while back, but hadn't got around to setting it up - so the timing of your video was exactly what I needed to get me going. 😁 A thought concerning, the "single-point-of-failure" issue - run a second copy on another machine. In my case I have two Synology DS1621+ boxes, so for me adding an Uptime Kuma container to the second NAS will be the way to go (I already do this with twin PiHole instances). The obvious question that brings up is how (and what) to backup on the configuration from one instance so I can duplicate it on the second Synology - Any pointers on how I might do this? Note that I'm not looking for an auto-sync/auto-failover solution - just manual Backup/Restore and manual failover steps. One of the things that your video highlighted to me was the potential for remote monitoring - I am the family "I.T.Guy" (I suspect like many of your followers), so being able to spot a remote issue before the panic call from Kids\Parents\Mother-in-Dragon is very attractive. Thanks again for a spot-on Tutorial.

Thanks! The easiest way is to back up the volume and restore it on the second NAS, but like I said towards the end of the video - you can only take it so far. If both NAS devices stay online but the Switch they're connected to goes down, you're out of luck too. You'd basically need a fully redundant network, which most home users don't have, but it doesn't hurt to run it twice! Just want to keep it in perspective.

Good stuff. Feedback: your cuts after some action are a bit fast. If you could pause for 2 seconds after you do something, it would be easier to follow along.

Thanks for the feedback and for watching! The sad truth is this is me trying to slow down, but clearly not doing a good enough job. I'll keep it as a priority and thanks again for the feedback!

Oh wow. Ok. Yeah, I have a hard time catching watch screen/button/command on mobile or tv because you’re so fast. I have move to a PC and frame by frame it, so a 1 Mississippi pause would be long enough for it to register. 😉. Keep up the great vids!

The problem is that the kuma uptime software is installed on the same docker server. So if the nas breaks down uptime kuma won't work either

What device are you setting it up on? Using Docker Compose I assume?

Would you happen to know how to backup Uptime Kuma settings and data more efficiently, rather than directly copying (./data/) every time? The backup feature doesn't seem to work, and with each new Uptime Kuma update, I find myself having to redo all my settings manually, as the backup feature appears to be deprecated. Thanks!

They actually are recommending against using the backup/restore feature in newer versions since it doesn't really work. I'm afraid backing up the data volume is the only trustworthy option.

Synology is getting more like Apple , locking down the hardware . Sticking with my 918+. Looking to upgrade next year. It will definitely not be a Synology.
