If you're contemplating getting this soundbar, stop, and order it now. You really do feel the bass and Alexa is awesome. 😎 8/10 stars for me, the sub could be bigger with more power, however this six and a half inch sub is still VERY powerful. Yamaha has been in the music industry for a minute, and this product has the quality I've come to expect from other Yamaha products.

Are hdmi and hdmi ARC CABLE ARE TWO DIFFERENT CABLES. I HAVE A HDMI CABLE TO CONNECT WITH SOUND BAR. IS IT SUFFICIENT

I can't connect yas 209 to Alexa for over a year I have tried. Recently, Yamaha Multicast don' have yas 209 in its llist. I can't do anything further.

After 11 month the subwoofer is death. not link with the soundbar and don't sounds. Shame because I liked it and it sounded good. luckily with Amazon I can give it back.

Hi Yamaha, I have a problem with the soundbar Yas 209, after the last update in the phone app I can't see anymore the TV connected via Hdmi ARC, the TV it's like lighting, i have a Samsung TV of the 2010. I have this issue on my sky q decoder but not in another decoder called tivùsat always via hdmi Arc. How can I solve this? Because now I'm forced to use the soundbar via optical fiber cable but obviously is not the same.

I bought YAS-209 because the description says it works with Alexa. But really YAS-209 doesn't work with Alexa. It doesn't have built-in Alexa. The Android app (Sound Bar Controller) doesn't really have a menu to connect to Alexa. Although the screenshot of this application has such a menu.

No sound sync option which is a shame. I get a huge delay when connecting to my tv via hdmi arc. Ended up replacing the Yamaha YAS209 with jbl bar 2.1 which has an audio sync option which is very useful, not to mention it doesn't suffer from sound delay when using HDMI arc.

Anyone having a problem with the WiFi subwoofer. It's all paired and solid green light. But changing volume on subwoofer nothing happens?? Used both mobile and controller??i tried unplugging for an hour etc... Any help is appreciated.

Try to unplug it for a minute, than press vol+ and power buttons for 15 seconds. It should reset your bar

I am guessing this is due to your location. It may be the reason why the app asks for location access. It is the same for me, there is no Alexa option. Alexa app also cant find the device. Simply hiding a setting without any information is terrible user experience. Also every smart thing in my home works with Alexa including my echo, yet this yas209 is the only one that fails to do that.

Had same problem. Could not figure it out. Contacted Yamaha and they responded fast. Resolution is on Android to change language on your phone to english. My phone was set to danish, resulting in only Spotify and qq music to select under sources in soundbar controller app. Changing language to english and...boom. Alexa available and then put in credentials and you are good to go. I think on iphone you maybe have to change both region to US and language to english. Hope this helps.

One of the worst sound bars I’ve purchased. The sound is great but the modern connectivity, Alexa etc is appalling. Also note that this doesn’t support Music cast. And ARC control is a hit and miss. Rubbish is the word! Avoid.

This soundbar sucked. There are a lot of connectivity issues. It’s a shame because the sound is great but save your money elsewhere.
