I am having a problem setting up the ads on Spotify ads platform. It’s asking for VAT which I don’t currently have because I am based in Europe 😮

Apparently an issue for years. Just took the plunge and set up officially as a sole trader with business account and waiting on my VAT number, for VAT I will likely never need to pay. Hope you got it sorted... Pretty heart breaking young artists hit this obstacle after deciding to take the plunge into marketing.

Created my add a few days ago... today is the day my first add is supposed to go live... status say "Ready" with a green light... do I need to click anything else to get it to start or will it do that automatically? thx

Hard to say without seeing the account, but sometimes ad creative takes longer to approve. Did it start running?

Yes it’s started running on its own. It seems to “say ready for a day or half a day before it turns to “active”. After I made my first add the other ones seems to start a little bit quicker than the first

As of now (at least in our account) app installs isn't a campaign objective in Spotify. Just Reach, Impressions, Video Views, or Clicks.

Too many "it depends" factors to answer that one. Depends on what you're targeting, who you're excluding, how much competition you have for your targets, how well or poorly do people engage with your ads. Too many components involved and every account and industry is different.
