In this video we look at how you set up your Megger MFT tester to carry out an insulation resistance test on a 230 volt AC lighting circuit. Full demonstration on setting the scale on your Megger Multifunctional Tester (MFT) and the conductors that need to be connected in order to carry out this test correctly. We look at removing all loads priory to carrying out the test and the productions to take when the circuit has RCD protection. The test voltage used when carrying out this dead test on a circuit with a nominal 230 volts AC is 500 volts DC with a minimum acceptable insulation resistance of 1 megohm.
